Dave having an Asian wife and half Asian kids those jokes are coming from a different place than just any normal commentary.

Ya'll overreacting. Ya'll make it seem like he did some long segment on black on asian violence. Dude did like one minute of setup where he talked about seeing vids of black people beating up asians, and then flipped it into a joke about him not being affected by COIVD.
If you didn't like the special or don't think Dave is funny anymore that's cool, but some of these criticisms are just forced.

That's exactly why this special wasn't necessary. It seems like he wants his critics to understand or rock with him so bad. He's got to realize that it's not going to happen. They don't care about the context or where his heart is at when he says what he says. They believe it's offensive and that's all there is to it. At the end of the day, you can't argue people away from being offended. If they are, they just are.

The Dave Chappelle out rage is so overblown. Its fucking comedy...i dont think he has ever said anything under the guise of comedy to get some shit off there was never malice in it the reaction to Dave getting shit off his chest is just as bad.. as if he went scorched earth

I think Dave is just in a weird position. I think he genuinely wants to be liked and seen as "everybody's friend," but he also sees himself as a comedian's comedian and to some extent you can't be both. These past few specials have been his desperate attempts to convince his critics that he's not against them while also making the kinds of jokes that he thinks will be respected by his fellow comedians. Shit doesn't work.
My bigger problem with the special is basically something @Race Jones alluded too. Too often now he says shit that just isn't witty or funny. It's like he goes on some commentary rant and then remembers he has to try and make it a joke and the shit falls flat. A good example of it was the whole MeToo rant. Like he was making reasonable points and then he capped of with the "You should make me a leader. I'll get you everything you want if...you suck my dick." I audibly groaned at that shit. I was expecting him to come with something better than that.
