Welcome To aBlackWeb

The whole family had their sneaker game on point.

If the main gripe about this show is the light-skinned cast, then KB ain't got nothing to worry about. He is basing the characters off HIS life, not ours.

There were some black knowledge dropped throughout.

I hope they get a second season.
I see what you're saying about the shoes and knowledge dropped. Episodes got better as I watched lol. It's really not bad man. The music dope too.

Never seen blackish so I guess I can’t watch this yet for an honest review

You don't have to watch one to watch the other. It's just a situation imo where blackish is what he was able/allowed to do and blackAF is what he wants to do.
It's not a prequel or sequel or anything. I personally don't watch blackish like that.

I liked it.. Not great but def not bad.. It picked up after the first couple episodes when it stopped trying to be blackish.. Maybe it was cool to me because I like this type of dry humor.. Do yourself a favor and ignore the wack Twitter reviews

When are light skinned people not black?

I never said they weren't. My point was..you know black people come in all shades right...not just one tone for the tv.

I wish I was here for all the post after my post cause you guys completely misunderstood what I was trying to say.

It looks like you may be saying the show is not ghetto/ratchet enough to be "blackAF" and they're too light to be considered blackAF. I don't want to misunderstand what you're really saying. Get me right if I'm wrong. Also, it seems as if this tv family is a correlation to his real life family. It's a mixed family.

He's supposed to cast darker skin tones of actors that are supposed to be his family to your liking instead of what they reflect? Lol. Shut the fuck up.

I am not saying NONE of that! First black is black word to rashida jones..my comments wasnt against the shade of any black person..

I am so use to Hollywood shunning darker black actors in general that when black actors finally get on..I like to see when a show -shows variety of diff tone black actors n actresses

And I am just saying In general, obviously times have changed from movies like "black panther" to "US"

I am not against the show cause of the skin tone of the actors n actresses..I am not racist against my own kind..

it's cool of he went with his own families tone for the reality of it if that's what he truly did..shit it would not of mattered if he did this show like he did "black-ish" where the youngest daughter is darker than the oldest son
.

I just like to see a variety cause i feel like everyone(all of us) is getting a fair shake.

What do you mean when you said the show "is supposed to be black as fuck"?

I get what you're saying about darker people are discriminated against for roles, but this isn't the case at all with this particular show. Just seems insulting saying their tone is "whiteout" as if that doesn't make them black enough. We gotta stop doing that to our own people.

I get what you're saying about darker people being passed for roles just bc they are in fact black, but this isn't the case at all with this particular show. Just seems insulting saying their tone is "whiteout" as if that doesn't make them black enough. We gotta stop doing that to our own people.

I know the purpose of the show and the meaning behind how he is/was presenting it....

I honestly was talking shit w
..doing the internet thing..when I made that comment...like I know you dont know me..but I ain't on the if your %10 black you "ain't black enough" for me...blah blah

I was clowning..having fun w the comment. I get where you are coming from but that wasn't the case w me. My wife is 1/2 black and 1/2 cape verdean and I consider her more black than cape verdean in general.
