Williams is the interesting one of this bunch. Defensively, the forward’s size and versatility suggests he’ll immediately be loved by his new coach and that he’ll see significant NBA minutes. On the other hand, his offense is somewhat raw, and the immediate defensive impact may not do a non-playoff-contending team any good right now. I’ve heard that Detroit really likes the 18-year-old Williams, who is 6-8 with a 6-11 wingspan, but perhaps not enough to take him at No. 7. Williams was a good finisher at the rim and a solid scorer at Florida State, but the offensive weaponry isn’t quite NBA-ready.
