2020 NBA Draft thread

Williams is the interesting one of this bunch. Defensively, the forward’s size and versatility suggests he’ll immediately be loved by his new coach and that he’ll see significant NBA minutes. On the other hand, his offense is somewhat raw, and the immediate defensive impact may not do a non-playoff-contending team any good right now. I’ve heard that Detroit really likes the 18-year-old Williams, who is 6-8 with a 6-11 wingspan, but perhaps not enough to take him at No. 7. Williams was a good finisher at the rim and a solid scorer at Florida State, but the offensive weaponry isn’t quite NBA-ready.

Man, fuck the Ringer and most of all the other draft "Analysts/gurus". These mfers bend over backwards to give most prospects the benefit of doubt, but when it comes to LaMelo, they act like the book is already written on him, smh.

According to sources, Hampton has spent part of the pandemic working out with Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway and his former assistant coach Mike Miller, a standout 3-point shooter in the NBA. Miller stepped down from the Memphis staff in June. A source told The Post Miller may transition into becoming an agent, with Hampton as a potential client

In further evidence of the Nets’ seriousness, the club worked out combo guard RJ Hampton in Memphis within the last two weeks, The Post has learned. The Nets select 19th in the draft on Nov. 18, and there’s a big question whether Hampton will be there. Because Hampton chose to play a season for the New Zealand Breakers of the NBL instead of the NCAA, he might not have gotten the same level of coaching.

Some scouts tag Nesmith as the top 3-point shooter in the draft, but his standing isn’t as a high lottery pick. He was injured in his sophomore season, suffering a stress fracture in his right foot that limited him to 14 games. “We compare him to Khris Middleton,’’ Stackhouse told The Post in an email Sunday. “He’s perfect for the wing spot. He has the size. He has the strength and in addition to being a shooter, he is dedicated to the defensive side as well.”
