HBO True Detective: Night Country

I rewatched the first ep just cuz I needed more of this show lol. The restraint to not play catch up with the audience on all the relationships is a lost art. And they're not assuming we get it all and are just breezing through it either. They're dropping just enough backstory so we know what we know when we need to know it.

Dead had to make a new account just to talk about this can’t reset the password to my old one , but I already watched both epds like 3x and I think people are missing a lot of little shit, this one of those shows you have to watch a recap then watch the episodes again just something’s that I didn’t see get pointed out

The cop Danvers is sleeping with is suspect not only because it’s obvious it’s because the show literally tells you

In the creepy nursery rhyme the 7th line is something about a secret that shouldn’t get out his air bnb cabin was 7 and he’s was aggressively trying to take the case.

I also believe the scientist didn’t do anything to the native women as a whole maybe that one guy but she somehow indoctrinated him into the crazy shit because she had the tat first

You have to look at this show on two diff levels

Straight crime conspiracy : the water and the greed from the mines is causing people to go nuts , Indian girl was killed in a ritual murder by the scientist who lost his mind ( this is to simple and what they tried leading is too)

Cosmic horror entity , The tuttles have obviously grown and prospered while still worshiping the yellow king which is terrifying because that’s means they now have a global reach in the current era and they are still funding evil shit. The research is directly linked to the idea of living forever which relates to the carcosa shit, my issue now that I’m saying it out loud if the research station was funded by the tuttles and was a super tight knit group how come only one scientist had the tat? And why after the girl.

Also hasn’t every true detective show had different time periods, this one doesn’t this means we are at the end of somebody story and I think that story is Russ from season 1 we already saw his pops involvement, I believe there are no time skips because of this.

“Things vibes”the whole first ep and the tone of the show took vibes from the thing which means we absolutely cannot trust anyone and if it is truly supernatural it’s a shape shifting entity

Also the young cop looking like Leon s Kennedy from resident evil isn’t a mistake

Remember Leon was a rookie cop tossed into a horrible situation he had to make right if you look into the some of the trailers you can see the kid speaking on that like he has to atone for something his family did

ie: being the hero of a horrible situation the have no control off, true detective is twisted so I think he will die trying to makeup for his family sins.

Is Travis supposed to be related to Rust from s1? They got the same last name
Yeah that was his father this show is directly linked to season one just not some Easter eggs,

His pops and Russ appear to just be some extra spiritual white boys because his death has nothing to do with what’s going on he just happens to just be a helpful ghost because his side piece had that wap and is a medium.

I wouldn't say she was a butch lesbian but looks bi and freaky.

I get what you mean, but she's prettier than most women I would call Butch who have closets full of jogging suit tops ,flannel shirts, and overalls.

She looks like a fem,but a fem who works out and got hands.
She makes me want to get pegged.

I think he is. Rust also is asked by a chick he's dancing with "what was it like living in alaska?". So rust has definitely spent time there.

That spiral is from season 1 as well. That was from the cult of the yellow king. Those figurines in the trailer are pretty similar to the ones from season one too. End of season one was kind of open ended with the realization that the cult may be taken care of in the local area but seems to be much larger than they anticipated.

maaaaaaan ion even remember season 1! 😬
Haha I rewatched it the weekend season 4 premiered. Might have to give season 3 another watch. I didnt love it but didn't hate it, but i feel like I recall when it was airing there was a small connection to season 1 in there as well. I dont think it was anything related to the cult though.

I guess Travis is supposed to be Rust's daddy.

Ah yeah thats for sure then. I wonder if because rust was involved with the cult down south if they'll try calling him up for help. Or they'll probably just reference it heavy in future episodes.
