Maybe it is based on where people live, But here in the DMV area, it's not hard to find black people that enjoy hiking. I hike and camp. I will agree you will see less blacks camping. But most people, regardless of race, dont like camping. Off the top of my head, I have 5 friends that hike, and 2 that camp. They all black.
Met a girl 2 years ago who invited me to hike with her friends. All of us black. Think it was like 7 of us.
Years ago, my friend was part of a black meet up group. They do different adventurous things. I was invited. We did a group camping trip. There had to be maybe 30 people all black. Women and man.
You will be surprised how many blacks are willing to go hiking if the right person ask. I introduced some of my friends to hiking and camping. All black.

Yeah that happens with alot of things. Like I was shocked to see how many Black folks in NY and NJ love hockey til I thought and realized it's like 3 pro teams all in one concentrated area of NY and Jersey so it makes sense.
Went camping once in 2021 for a couple days with my homie and his family. One of the most peaceful experiences ever.
There's nothing as group/collective that they can improve on just like there isn't anything as a group/collective that American Black Men could improve on. We are not all the same.
