I wouldn't say they are idiots because they don't understand why an advanced civilization would cling to tribal customs. It just isn't their way. White Americans have been pretty quick to abandon their cultures and replace it with whatever flash in the pan technological substitute pops up.

Marvel hasn't failed yet but i wasn't exspecting this movie to be a instant classic


Anybody notice mbj mimicking the game the way he talked

White people not getting the social cues fine but the black people attacking this movie for its beautiful vision of a piece of africa left to thrive without outside interference can eat a dick

I personally like Winter Solider the best but Black Panther was a great movie.

My only gripe is the fighting, especially the last battle between Killmonger and T’Challa. The CG wasn’t as good as it had been throughout the movie in that scene. It was too cartoon like.

The best fight sequence to me was Okoye fighting in the casino. You can tell Danai (or her stunt double if she used one) has done and is good at doing fight scenes. I thought the movie would have better fighting and T’Challa would have cool fighting like he did in Civil War.

Great movie. Loved MBJ in this and he damn near stole the show from chadwick imo

I was like in the 4th row so the fighting was kinda hard to keep up with but great cinematography, loved the storytelling and themes and humor. My mans from get out shoulda died for turning his back on T'challa like that but I get it

Off the top of my head I can only think of this guy named Achebe. Old guy sold his soul to the devil in order to cause unrest among tribes in Wakanda and conspired with T'Challa's step mom to usurp the throne and exile him to the U.S.

That would be a dope ass villain especially if they were able to include Brother Voodoo and T'Challa's necromancy power.
 
and marvel HAS failed (theyve put out a good amt of crap IMO) it just that at this point, it doesnt even matter. Those movies already advanced the major narrative and build up of Infinty war, which is what its all been leading up to. (and still made disney a profit to boot, so they dont have anything to be mad about).

It's like doing a big comic book crossover like Infinite Crisis or Secret Wars, and some issues or tie-ins not being as good as others. You can tune in or not, but the story continues, and those movies/issues are there to catch you up if you choose.

They mastered that style with big budget flicks. Its impressive.

You could make that argument concerning white Americans. Europeans certainly have their own cultures. But yeah, that's all the more reason why they wouldn't understand holding onto culture regardless of technological advancement or why cultural appropriation is a bad thing.
