The Bible specifically states that God stretched out the Heavens aka the Universe.
 
Science and the God work together. The Universe has laws. The Universe is very fine-tuned. The observable evidence is there.
 
Bible also mentions the firmament but you conveniently forgot about that right?

God and the heavens are only limited by our understanding of them....

The conception of God predates our understanding of the known universe... Of course they conflict.... Which is why an open mind to both and the acceptance that our knowledge on both is limited and absolute.

We don't know everything about God.
We don't know everything about space.

Those are the only sure things in this whole discussion. And the only absolutes thought-out time
 
The Universe having laws cannot be denied; gravity, thermodynamics, math etc they are there. Laws = a law giver. Science explains these things, God is the provider of it all.

the only religious text to tell us that we had a beginning... it was always thought that the Universe was static, or eternal. It never was. The Bible was privy to there being a beginning even before science was. It wasnt until the 60’s that science started gathering their evidence of a beginning.
