What Are You Cooking for Dinner Tonight??

Final product. I missed the mark in getting crispy skin. The dude in the video put aluminum over it for the first 80min. I questioned it but when he took it off and let it cook some more, it was crispy. Other videos never had the duck covered. I also wasnt a fan of the orange sauce. I should have let the potatoes fry much longer. They were done but not crispy.

Duck is so flavorful. All you really need is salt and pepper for the outside. Stuff it with some aromatics. I have some bottled duck sauce that I will use for my lift overs. Also have some left over duck grease. I will save that for others things. I will try the duck fat potatoes again another time. I will say those onions were the best i ever had. They were cooking in the duck fat the whole time.

What's duck taste like?
Hard to describe. So I stole this description online.

Duck meat is a strong flavored, gamey tasting meat that is closer to red meat in flavor than chicken. It has more fat which, when cooked correctly, provides a lovely mix of tender, moist protein with a fatty mouthfeel. The taste of duck could roughly be compared to liver or steak.

Didn't know you can deep fry a whole duck. I know what I'll be doing for Thanksgiving. I usually eat duck when I'm out at a nice restaurant. And that shit be fie
You gonna have your first time frying a duck on the super bowl of food days? Man, you better have some test runs before hand.

Im sure frying it will be good but i feel it will loose its grease that it produces. That kind of adds onto its flavor.

Upon second tasting, it doesnt taste anything like steak, lol. But I get the comparison with red meat. Duck can have some pink in it and still be safe. Similar to steak but unlike chicken. But duck doesnt have dry meat. The breast is the gold.

A Thai restaurant I go to does duck and do the leg quarter which is the thigh and leg and that shit be on point. But the breast do be on point though

Nah I'm usually on point, I'll look up some recipes and go from there. But I know I'll give it a go on Thanksgiving just because that's the only time I use a gang of peanut oil to fry turkey's in.
I may try pan frying it in the cast iron
