OPINION The Wire - A Hindsight Discussion

in what way?
A better story for one

Peeling back the layers to see how the barksdale organization deals with adversity of trying to find product

The push and pull dynamic between stringer and Avon’s ideals

Mcnulty and daniels’ fractured relationship that didn’t come together until towards the end

Showcasing for the first time how good of a detective mcnulty was

That’s off the top of my head

Damn i just finished my rewatch and dont remember that shit. I mighta dozed off. When that happen?

she was spos to be the best of them.. even still.. the best still aint shit I guess
I wanna say the episode where the higher ups kept talking about putting dope on the table

She hopped out quick af

Matter of fact, it was the episode the cac got injured and was able to retire

Interesting discussion in the comments section.

Some of the suggestions, however, were already touched on in previous seasons.

They just didn't make it the whole theme of the show.

Mainly the prison system and confidential informants.

Prisons were touched on in season 2.............CIs(snitching) was touched on in season 4.

My theory is, since the show is produced by ex-police officers.........mainly Ken Burns (not the PBS guy, the Baltimore one).

Basically, they're never gonna do a deep dive on how dirty they do informants...........or how corrupt the prison system is.

Probably because they don't want to make their colleagues look too bad.
