The reality is numerous factors would have to be considered, what's a satisfactory living wage, the fact states, let alone regions are different when it comes to cost of living, slowing the cost of living increase, corporate greed, getting ppl to realize minimum wage jobs aren't meant to be permanent for everyone, etc

Who said that anything about restaurants doubling the prices of their meals in response to an increase in the minimum wage? That's some shit you just plucked out of your ass so you could shoot it down as being stupid.
They don't have to go up that much. Maybe, they only go on average a dollar on all their meals. Maybe the grocery stores or Wal-mart only go up about an average of .25 on all their products. Maybe the gas stations just put a couple cents on every gallon. Imagine every business that is affected by the wage increase and sells vital goods or services raises their prices to offset the cost of a wage increase. When those people benefitting from the wage increase go out there to buy groceries, get a quick meal, get gas, etc... those little increases build up and effectively nullify much of what was gained through the increase.
