The Official MCU Thread

If it was still top tier content then the audiences attention would still be there.

It’s quality control that has waned. That’s the initiator.

Ehhh, I don't know about that. I think that's part of it, but I don't know if Marvel and Star Wars were ever meant to be the pillars that Disney has made them. I mean look at the way D+ is divided up. It like Classic Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar. Trying to make Star Wars production comparable to Pixar is weird.

What?!?!?

They spent like 10+ billion to acquire them properties.

They absolutely intended to make them pillars.

Iger definitely intended for Marvel to be the flagship product & help push Disney+ be a direct competitor to Netflix.

This is why there was a drastic increase in marvel Disney+ shows from year one to the next in 2022 & there was shows in development for characters nobody really cares about like She-Hulk, Echo & Agatha.

Now he trying to pretend like this wasn’t his doing and putting all the blame on Feige

The MCU would have made the money back without them trying to push out 5 series a year and doubling the amount of movies they were pushing. My point isn't that they didn't want them to be pillars. My point is that the other pillars are built on many different franchises where with Marvel and Star Wars, the general public just sees those as two big franchises that are probably being stretched too far at this point. As a comic fan, I liked Werewolf By Night. I doubt the average MCU fan gave a fuck.

"We recognize how much you’ve all done on your specific projects and it’s disappointing when carefully laid plans have to shift, but constant change is the nature of the production business, and our teams are no stranger to unexpected challenges and rising to meet them. We deeply appreciate all your efforts to make the best of the situation, and we can all hope that a new agreement will be finalized soon so we can resume the great work we have in process."

Because it was a unknown character that made it possible for Marvel to make these movies.
And let's not forget about GotG. Hell, even AoS did pretty damn good

After having give it some thought, I pretty much agree with everything said in this video. It could even be compared to how they introduced Spiderman in Civil War, which was also done in a far better way.
