Batman Will Receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Getting a star on the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the highest honors that someone in the entertainment industry can achieve. As it turns out, even characters from fiction can be recognized for their contributions to pop culture. Next year, Hollywood’s best and brightest will be joined by none other than Bruce Wayne himself. Variety brings word that Batman will receive a star on the Walk of Fame at a ceremony in 2020.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Selection Committee announced the full list of 2020 recipients earlier today. Other honorees include Julia Roberts, Spike Lee, 50 Cent, Octavia Spencer, Billy Idol, and Dave Chappelle. Ironically enough, Burt Ward, who starred as Robin on the 1960s BATMAN series, will be honored with his own star. MCU veterans Chris Hemsworth (THOR), Laurence Fishburne (ANT-MAN AND THE WASP), and Mahershala Ali (LUKE CAGE) also made the cu

currently reading the bruce wayne :murderer bruce wayne: fugitive story lines

also could be great movie material...

however the problem with it, is prolly the biggest challenge dc is facing at the movies..

they want origins and introductions to every character....

and batman had a whole family of characters...

many of his good story lines feature 2 or 3 robins, birds of prey, deep cut villains....all who have never even been hinted at on screen, and i think the execs are worried about too many characters that the public won't know about or care about...

where as the animated movies have no issues picking up right where the comics are, and let the characters introduce themselves

again that's where the MCU stood strong, they strategically introduced all the major players in the major story line slowly but surely......

i'm reading this story now you got tim drake, dick grason, cassandra cain, stephanie brown, barbara gordon,

shit crazy

Whoever is running the DCEU films really needs to sit down and have a conversation with whoever is responsible for the animated joints. That shit is inexcusable that the animated joints are true to the comic and still compelling but when it comes to the live action joints its a complete shit show cuz they wanna change a million things that they think will get more asses in seats.

It really aint that hard... but these WB/DC execs man...

Marvel films are very different to the source material as well, but marvel definitely seems to make their stories at least relate to the source material and they dont stray suuuuuper far off of it like the dceu does.

On a positive note they did test footage for gotham city sirens and wonder woman 84 and both were very positive. People are saying ewan McGregor's portrayal of black mask from the footage seems like one of the best comic book villains to date. Also saying the smollett girl playing black canary is absolutely killing the role.

bruh.....

imma say this...

birds of prey is underrated as fuck, and if DC mishandles these characters during this day n age especially with the current climate towards woman empowerment......they realy fucking up

as i mentioned a few times , i'm currently reading the bruce wayne murderer/fugitive storyline, and it stretches over batman, detective comics, nightwing, gotham knights, batgirl, and the birds of prey comics respectively....

but i gotta say the birds of prey episodes are pretty fucking good....

i love cassandra cain......she needs to be done justice in live action if they ever go there...

ready to see the JOKER as you have never seen him? Todd Phillips’ new origin story about Gotham’s Prince of Crime is hitting theaters this fall, and it promises a radical new take on one of the most iconic characters of all time. In a recent interview with Empire, the writer-director of the upcoming feature on Gotham’s cryptic supervillain predicts that his choice of not following the comic books’ material will make people “mad”.

“We didn’t follow anything from the comic-books, which people are gonna be mad about,” Todd Phillips said. “We just wrote our own version of where a guy like Joker might come from. That’s what was interesting to me. We’re not even doing Joker, but the story of becoming Joker. It’s about this man

Not sure I care if there is no tie In. Yeah it will still be watched by me but less enthusiastic about it.

I'm still excited about this movie

I do think it's kinda scary that the writers are ignoring source material again like some folks stated in this thread earlier but the trailer looked really intriguing
