And that's a bad example because she was a program to begin with and theoretically could've taken any appearance she wanted to, which they went through the trouble of actually explaining it during the movie
 
James Gunn's 'Suicide Squad' Roster Reportedly Revealed

James Gunn is teaming up with DC for a new Suicide Squad movie that will essentially act as a revamp of David Ayer's 2016 film, rather than a direct sequel. To this point, all that we've known about this new team is that Margot Robbie will likely reprise her role as Harley Quinn, and Idris Elba will be taking over for Will Smith as Deadshot. A new report reveals what looks to be the rest of the roster for Gunn's new iteration of the anti-hero team, and it's even weirder than anyone expected.

According to Collider's report, which comes from sources close to the production, the current roster will be led by Elba's Deadshot and involve Harley Quinn in a limited capacity. After that, the new Suicide Squad will consist of Ratcatcher, King Shark, Poka-Dot Man, and Peacemaker.


According to the report, Ratcatcher will be a gender-swapped version of the DC Comics character, replacing Otis Flannegan with a woman in the role. In addition to her ability to control rats, this character will also have an affinity for poisonous gas.

While all of these characters are intriguing for the big screen, the most head-turning bit of news comes with the description for Peacemaker. Apparently Gunn is keen on getting Dave Bautista for this role after casting him as Drax in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy movies. After Gunn was fired at Disney, Bautista was instantly the biggest advocate for the director, so it's no surprise that the duo are hoping to work together again.


Keep in mind, this lineup could change by the time the movie goes into production later this year. Any tweaks or rewrites could significantly alter the roster and nothing is final at this time.

Fucking Finally, getting King Shark in the mix!

I was pissed off when Ayer decided to use Croc instead of King Shark.

Would be so wild if Bautista came over to the DCEU as well. I think its pretty apparent he doesnt want to work with Marvel after Endgame and they already said the Guardians Lineup will be different after Endgame.

Yeah im Bummed we werent able to get Elba as John Stewart, but oh well. At least he's in there somewhere and I think he'd be a great Deadshot.
 
Damn, after thinking about it, supposedly they were open to Smith returning as Deadshot in the future, but he just couldnt fit in the schedule this sequel here. Elba would have been a dope Bronze Tiger and temporary leader until Deadshot came back.

yea my cousin was saying he doesn't know why idris just didn't do another character, the suicide squad rotates.. that's a easy fix
 
i wouldn't call it a fuck up, just a missed opportunity

kinda how marvel missed a lotta opportunities withe fox/sony situation....

there were mad characters that could have been included in the MCU and infinity war, that didn't make the cut bcuz of studios....


Idris as deadshot isnt a bad thing.... it just could have been something different
 
Shit will Smith not being deadshot is great news to me . he just looked out of place from the start.


I fucks w Idris in the role. I think he will do the character justice..

How is that Disney/ Marvel fault, Fox and/or Sony didn't want to sell or lease their Marvel properties.

Yeah the main issue with Smith not returning was due to schedule conflicts. WB wants Gunn to start production and have the film released by 2021 i think, maybe 2020. Hes already completed his draft of the script. Smith was just already scheduled for other projects so there is a possibility he could return in the future. This will make room for them to probably have Cap Boomerang and Harley Quinn to return since they are generally mainstays, but maybe they can be lead by Bronze Tiger this time and get King Shark in the mix with some other folks too.

Get Michael Jai White to play Bronze Tiger like he did in the arrow verse
