The Official DCU Thread

I still wanna see the Snyder cut of JL just for curiosity's sake
Yeah it's really fucked up we couldnt see it. I had minor complaints about Snyder's vision, but I loved that it was different from marvel. It was super serious. Then wb folded under pressure and tried to do the marvel formula but fucked up a lot of potentially great superhero films

Yeah I only give DC shit for they're lack of direction and vision. If they had kept the serious tone from MoS and Nolan's Batman I probably would have put them on the same level as Marvel. Maybe even above Marvel had they done it right.

DC is fine.....

The movies will pick up.....

I think Shazam is another banger

The app is a success imo...

10 minutes in, and doom patrol is another hit as well.... This shit has a much better feel than the episode on Titans

It was much better than I expected. It immediately Drew me in...

thats fine

but to say its a hit off the first episode is a stretch

i appreciate your enthusiasm about it tho

I'ma check it out after im done with Creed 2

Not really.

When u saw how good Titans were.... And the budget behind this. The hype .

The casting and the care with which this was done .... You see how it's directed ..... Is easy af to tell this is another hit

Armie Hammer Reportedly In Final Talks To Play Batman

Ben-Affleck-and-Armie-Hammer-as-DCEU-Batman.jpg

"Armie Hammer is in final talks to portray The Batman for director Matt Reeves. For the past handful of years, the role of the Caped Crusader has been filled by Ben Affleck, who made three appearances as the character in the DC Extended Universe. However, after years of rumors and speculation, he officially stepped down as Batman, paving the way for a new actor to take over in Reeves' upcoming standalone, which is due in 2021.

Since Affleck announced he's no longer Batman, there has been no shortage of possible replacements named. Nick Jonas offered his services to Warner Bros./DC, and fan art emerged of Robert Pattinson as the next Bruce Wayne. Fortunately, it didn't take the studio a long time to find their man, and it's coincidentally the person who had the best odds to step in for Affleck in the first place.

According to Revenge of the Fans, Hammer is final talks to be the lead in The Batman. It's important to note that at this point in time, the actor has not officially boarded the project, but it's widely expected he will sign soon.

Ain't Armie the one whose movies always bomb? Is there a Hollywood draft where studios that tank get higher picks in the actor draft?

I'm not familiar with armies movies I dont think, but that pic looks convincing enough. Looks like he could play a batman around the same age as batfleck too. Maybe they will do this first one as a prequel then incorporate him into the later movies aged a bit.

His full name is worse though. They named their kid after baking soda bruh, lol.

Lol I remember when we were all hyped af back at the IC in the bats v supes thread years for said movie would be released.

Shits been fuck up after fuck up. Damn shame. Ben didn't even get a solo film lol.

lmao I was arguing my ass off when BvS came out defending it. Once Suicide Squad dropped i kind of eased back, then as soon as it was revealed Snyder was leaving and Justice League eventually dropped, i was like "theres no way in hell im defending this shit."

Im still holding on to hope, word to superman, but WB needs to release some concrete plans of wtf they are doing moving forward. They are just announcing movie after movie with 1-2 releases a year and they're all hit or miss. Shazam is looking like a step in the right direction. Im not mad at the goofiness in the trailer, because you're dealing with a 13 year old kid with super powers. Definitely not gonna be the most mature thing ever. Im confident Patty and the Wonder Woman crew will do good with WW84, but besides that I'm weary to be excited for anything coming related to this DCEU.

Excited for Joker though. Mainly cuz Phoenix is a great actor imo. Todd Phillips, the director, is one of my favorite comedy directors ever. Plus its being produced my scorcese and the combination of Scorcese and Phillips is so weird that its interesting to see what they'll come up with. Also with it not being connected to the DCEU and a completely stand alone movie I can go into it with a completely open mind.

Armie is a nickname and he's part of the family that's associated with the baking soda brand.

Anyway, hell no to him playing Batman. He had his shot with that George Miller justice league that never got off the ground. All of Hammer's movies flop hard whenever he's the lead.
