I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how reparations would have helped win an election that was clearly decided by closet and overt racists.

Theres nothing in the history of this country that shows a non white person being elevated to any position of power without racism and/or sexism impacting them. Thats not to discount the other points but to say it had nothing to do with either racism or sexism is just a lie. Especially when some people outright expressed her being a woman was part of why they wouldn't vote for her.

It's funny cause Trump gained voters in every demographic. Trump almost won NJ. Trump got close in NY.

This to me means that the only thing people cares about was the economy. And rightfully so. shit hard as fuck out here.

And Kamala had rich celebrities in commercials.

She should have did nothing but don't talk about how to increase wages.

People didn't want a 25k house buying credit.

People wanted to know if they can go back to affording groceries.

Wildly bad showing.

No. They don't consider race a large factor. They consider family, lineage, nationality and values a large factor than a blanket racial factor.

Race in America was used to separate non-slaves from slaves. Then it became a proxy for caste. Now we go off of family, lineage and Americanness.

Race is dead. There are too many immigrants and classes within those immigrants populations that have a diversity of experiences for them to align according to race or ethnicity.

You are talking about a populations such as Indians that are used to a caste system and understand it well and they bring that understanding to America and employ it here.

You are talking about Latinos that understand a lineage based racial categorization that is more dependent of phenotype than blood and bringing it here. Not mention, nationality is more important than ethnicity to them.

You are talking about East Asians that understand strict hierarchal societies and the value of rank and class. They bring that here. They care more about nationality than race like Latinos.

The Black and White American understanding of race that dominated America is long gone. We are more like Brazil or India than 1950s America. Citizenship status, lineage, and family matters.

Race is dead and MAGA is accelerating it. Native Black Americans holding on to it is only causing confusion.

Native-born Black folks always get treated poorly because we descend from chattel slaves that legally was excluded from citizenship and equity in the USA. It has nothing to do with skin color or racialization.

Race will never be dead because it's impacted how major decisions that still affect us today are made. You can try and argue it's not as big of a factor but to say it's dead is lying to yourself. If it wasn't dead then it wouldn't have been such a big part of this election

The senior citizens who been voting for 50 plus years has seen it all thru the years and they don't want that type of change while they're still living

Wild. Jersey went from being +16 for Biden to +4 for Harris.

NY went from +23 to +10.

IL was too close to call at some point.

Democrats need to do major soul searching cause this is unprecedented.

I was thinking about it more today and the problem is the left has no home right now. When Kamala ran the first time is when the far left shit was taking over. So it is about trans rights and a bunch of wild shit which alienated moderate dems and independents. Then you have the vaccine mandates, suppression of freedom of speech, and all of those things and you start pushing away even more.

Mixed in with that they somehow also start becoming the old right on certain issues. They went full pro big pharma with the vaccine stuff when they used to be the skeptics and their media arms only survive because of ad money from big pharma. They also went all in on the military industrial complex and being pro war. Not that they already weren't, but being all in on the Ukraine war and parading out fucking Liz Cheney is absurd. Not to mention Kamala also had more billionaire support than Trump.

So where do 16 million votes guy? Well when you are both far left and old right there is a whole big middle area that you have completely lost. They need to be sensibly moderate. Pull back from the pharma and war shit while not embracing wild ass trans/woke ideologies. Then if Trump is as bad as they keep claiming, people are going to revolt against that shit and come back to being moderate.

Oh, and just have a candidate who isn't a complete fucking loser.

She did talk about dealing with price gouging and continuing to work lowering the cost of drugs, she just got off track with trying to get those never Trumpers and started focusing on him instead hammering that populous message like at the beginning of the campaign...

People also need to be spoon fed info.

Kamala's policies were all good to me but it went over peoples head. Sadly.

Trumps message was clear. "She wants to forgive student loans which means she's gonna make you pay for it"

When one side is saying we need to give 175 million in weapons to Ukraine and listing out all the reasons and the other side is just saying well that 175 million less for you, it's hard to compete.

Didn’t Obama deport like a record number of ppl who immigrated illegally? Is it that Dems aren’t tough on the border or is it that they just don’t flaunt or broadcast it on a mountain top?

Dems do a horrible job of tooting their own horn. They really just need to explain shit to the American people like a 5th grader.
(America IS basically a C-D average intelligent country compared to the rest of the 1st world countries )

This

The economy is the MAIN thing people should worry about as well as foreign policy and human rights…that’s all the president should really focus on

Issues such as health, education, religion, race and family structure has a threshold and you can only go so far in that area without pushing buttons. The people who run those communities have to be more responsible when it comes to that than the govt…

The only thing I expect from a president is a balanced economy and protected rights

Personal Ideologies aren’t, and should never be a federal issue
