How long before he met your son?

Why do you doubt men have to deal with that?

Well we met and talked for like 7 months and then stop talking for like 15 months. We reconnected and maybe after 2.5 months the second time my kid met him.

Let me say it was the 1st time I had formally explained to my kid the situation. Like in a way where he was like oh wait this is more than friends. I had and maybe still do have the mindset that I don't want my child to see me with different men. My dating life was separate from me being a mom.

I am mommy when I am with my kid. When I am with a guy I am not the mom version of me lol. And my kid don't need to see that part of me either. I think it has to with my upbringing.

I say men don't have to deal with it. Because in my experience with my son and my nephews they say they don't ask they dad about the women that are no longer around. They talk to the mom and feel they are able to express their feelings and thoughts more freely.

Interesting. I dig it. Even with this miscalculation, I'm glad you think about those sorts of things. I remember feeling really uncomfortable with the thought of having my son around any women that wasn't his mother. Luckily, the woman I dated pretty soon after understood and was ok not meeting him until after a looooooooong while. Not like she had a choice, but still.q

Saw this again after many years at this bar/theater in bushwick a few years ago. Shit was just as good as when I was a kid. Classic.
