SOME ABW Men apparently diss black women: thread about passport bros again

Why do ya'll always do shit like this? We'll be having a directed conversation about particular issues, and ya'll will bring up extreme examples that nobody is ok with. I haven't read every opinion expressed in this topic, so I might be going on a ledge, but I don't think anyone here is ok with dowries and hymen checks. Let's stay away from the red herrings and keep the discussion on point.

The reason a lot of dudes have a problem with taking women at face value is because frankly a lot of women just spread misinformation. Black women have played a part in pushing the deadbeat dad narrative. The actual data shows that black men are the most involved with their kids. Black women have played a part in the "black men only want white women" narrative. The actual data shows that the majority of black men marry black women. Black women have a played a part ins spreading the "black men just want to be players" narrative. The actual data shows that black men get married earlier and at a higher rate than black women. So yeah, not every dude is just going to shake his head and agree with everything women and their white knights say when we know for a fact that a lot of what they say is just wrong. The Eboni Williams debacle is a good example. The chick said some crazy shit, then doubled down on it, then tried to make her comments bigger than they were and used badly interpreted stats to do it. When a chick like that says she's single because she can't find a good black man on her level, are we really supposed to take her at face value?

To be fair, the misinformation absolutely goes both ways, so this isn't just a black woman thing. It's a society thing. There's a lot of information flowing out there, and people have a tendency to just take anything reinforces their own worldview and run with it. We all are guilty of that.

I think most of us can agree that ppl are way too comfortable letting their relatively limited personal experiences and anecdotes shape their opinions. Man or woman has a bad date with X race? Let's turn into dating advice content creators on YouTube and talk shit about said race to our hearts content. It's a vicious cycle that breeds resentment and narrow mindedness.

Idk. I remember that TI thread about him doing hymen checks on his daughter and there were quite a few "he's just a concerned parent and it's not that bad. She under his roof" takes lol.

I remember that thread and you're right.

You're right. I think the Youtube and social media stuff is kinda dangerous. I don't believe people understand how much they are being influenced. Some of these dudes walk around talking about Kevin Samuels like he was a god. Dude might have had some good points, but please recognize that he was a dude trying to make money and his antics were for that reason.

I was about to chime in with this.

Remove social media, particularly Twitter, and Youtube and this shit isn't discussed. You might have that one cat or chick on the block that talks like this, but nobody really pays them any attention. At worst they take up space on the porch trying to argue the merits of their way of thinking over a few beers during the summer. Without social media and youtube, there is no "passport bros", there's no "mgtow", harcdore feminism would barely exist, no incels, and white supremacy shit is limited to pockets of "good ole boys" in the south and parts of the midwest. Message boards like this one would remain but their reach and damage is far less when compared to social media.

Basically, imo, social media like Twitter and IG as well as Youtube are really the bane of society. They've helped to deteriorate relationships between men and women, helped to create angry white boys willing to murder innocent people, and many other ills of our society.

and that's what I feel like it is.........there is a lack of balance

@BlackRain just educated me on a point about being seen as a bedwench from a different perspective

I never considered the historical impact of how rape was a factor back then.......so now u have to really think about how that term is used today

however I still think that criticisms from educated BW seem like they have more of an enduring impact........simply becuz other groups help promote the division and put it on "official" forums like daytime TV

it seems easier to dismiss pop culture/music bashing from the average BM...........but when the "best" of BW got smoke for BM in public it just hits different 🙁
I'll be honest as well, I didn't know the origin of that Phrase until seeing this. Shout out to @BlackRain for that tidbit of History.

We hear Black Women saying how they don't feel protected by Black Men. Malcolm X even pointed this out, so it's not like it isn't common knowledge, but we have to realize where that all started:

SLAVERY.

White Men raping our Mothers, Wives, Sisters, Daughters, and we couldn't do anything about that back then, and if we did, we were killed. That shouldn't be an excuse these Days, but we all have to remember where all this distrust and hatred towards each other started. The Willie Lynch Syndrome is REAL. That shit was str8-up Psychological Slavery that we're still trying to overcome.

Willie lynch syndrome wasn't real

Question...do you think historically entertainers and/or athletes have been seen as the best of Black men?
no.....and they shouldn't be.......maybe for a few exceptions in the past (Russell, Ali, Abdul-Jabbar, Brown, etc)

and the fact that we even would consider entertainers/athletes as guys who truly represent the average BM is part of the problem today

They still call him Godfather and dudes were getting his face tatted on them. The shit has turned into a damn cult.

While I agree unfortunately for many others they are seen as the best of Black men. There's a reason "You either slang crack rock or got a wicked jump shot" resonates even today. And with some seeing athletes and entertainers as the best of Black men, this is to your point, when some of them speak the way they have on Black women it has the same effect you were talking about. Keep in mind I've also debated the false idea on here that Black male entertainers and athletes are with majority non Black women. I forget who it was, but I vehemently argued against that idea because it's just a flat out lie. But for those who are with non Black women too many of them have displayed some form of disdain for Black women that definitely stands out.

Contrary to popular belief, there is some effort being made to establish dialogue to resolve these issues:

This just came across my Twitter feed. I’m trying to figure out his endgame, other than giving reasons for him to bash black women. I see it as his excuse to get with women of other races.

This is such bullshit.

When I moved to Eugene, OR back in 2016, I joined a Dating site to meet Women. There was an overwhelming amount of Single White Mothers on there. When I was on the Street shopping or running Errands, the few Black Families, let alone Black People, I saw was a full unit: Black Father, Black Mother, and Black Children. Saying the majority of Single Mothers are Black Women is a falsehood. It all depends on locale. If you go to places with very little to no Black Women, I guarantee you'll find a ton of Single White Mothers.

He is talking shit but I bet if we pull up stats from the country he is from it will not be pretty

Bet he won't tell you that alot of those Afrikans beat their Women, just like in other Foreign Continents such as Europe and Australia. Even Brazil has those Machismo Laws protecting their Men from doing time for beating their Wives to Death. Alot of Afrikan Women that come here will not talk to Black Men because of their experiences back home.
