COMMUNITY Social Justice Thread: R.I.P. George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor & now Tyre Nichols

Bruh and that’s what a lot of black women are saying on fb. Some are mad that Breonna Taylor didn’t get the same reaction. Some are tired of feeling like they have to rescue black men and not get the same in return. This is what I be talking about. You can’t have unity if you can’t address everything.

I hear that and black women have a point but at the same time regardless of both things being fucked up and the police murdering black people in both incidents. Let's not act like George Floyd murder being on tape and Breonna Taylor's not isn't the biggest factor in the reaction to both incidents.

Seeing something will always have a bigger reaction that reading about something. Also Breonna Taylor name has been said at damn near every protest I've seen on the news or seen a sign with her name on it as well.

i hear you.....i actually often call for men to step up but often get drowned out.

i am very aware of many demographics in our community that needs to be address.
and in these times i can admit im not as vocal anymore about individual issues as i am looking to help the unit.

its sad that black women have to feel like this. and even sadder that if a dude offers assistance hes a simp.
also sad some ladies have too much masculine energy at the wrong times....while i understand it...at times its not needed.

an for anyone male or female to ask this female to have masculine energy is bullshit. if anything she needs to do exactly what she did....hold the fucking camera.

Didn't bother to read Drew 'apology' and I encourage everyone to let it die on this page

Just as Kaep words and actions fell on deaf ears to him, so must his words and actions fall on deaf ears to us

I agree with this, but this really shows how fucked up the world is. You can't even accept apologies because people are so fake you don't know when they are being sincere or when they are just trying to protect their bank accounts.

@shutupGabi said it best, if he didnt get it wasn't about the flag all these yrs, he aint never gonna get it

This 'apology' was about his standings in LA and his bank account. Dassit

Don’t fall for the gender divide
was just getting ready to post something similar

idk why it is a thing but there appears to be a subset of black women who always try to compare gender inequalities and pretend as if this isnt a concern to their black male counterparts

no one has forgotten about Breonna...NO ONE... i wish they stop trying to make it seem like her death just got swept under the rug.

Agents who wants to dissipate the energy.

they can kiss my ass.

the community been needing help.

i really dont like all this shit to calm people down and show they on our side now.

how about two fucking weeks ago?
last month?

now on tiktok im hearing white kids on there speaking out on racism?
really?

wasnt it just a who thread about shitting on black people?

are them black kids coon now ok with being black?

all this shit seems fake to me.

you can not convince me we getting all this love and its legit and can be sustained.

like you youngins say.....i aint rolling

I'm skeptical as well but I will speak to one thing you mentioned which is the kids on tiktok now speaking out...and I'll connect it to what I've seen quite a few people in their now late teens and early to mid 20s who are out protesting and marching now. Every generation tends to have a "this is how the world views you" moment and many of them have directly said Trayvon Martin's death was theirs. Looking at it through that frame it's a bit easier to see why the tiktok kids seem to be speaking on it so suddenly. It's a direct showing of how the world really is vs how they've been told it is and the kids who use tiktok are right at that same age to get that message.

Do those chicks really think that things would have played any different if George was the one that got killed in his home with no video and Breonna was the one that was choked to death on camera for everyone to see. Let's be real, they reaction might have been worse because it would have been seen as an abuse of a black person and an abuse of a woman, whereas in George's case no one really cares about the fact that he's a man being abused.

foh. More lip service and empty promises.

He still did NOT address the details about what he said. And why it was wrong. The "disrespect the military" is jus a bs tactic used to change the conversation.

And in America u have the freedom to stand or kneel during the anthem. So goin against or chastising someone for kneeling is actually going against the military not being for them
