Sorry @BNE, but I gotta explain this as chi is in the dark about what happened but iirc, one time her Photobucket got hacked, another time, one of the dudes she was conversing with, his gf find out about it, and read/posted the messages and convos, and the third time was that she confided in a known hacker for some strange reason and for another strange reason, he posted what she sent him

So by my count, 2 of the 3 instances I named were not her fault imo.

I'm not gon speak on jazz because that's her situation but I will say that we both know the dude in question is/was definitely on the fuck shit and cares more about his internet reputation vs a girl's feelings. And dizz is a fuck nigga who blatantly lies and will do anything for a fucking plat thread, like that means anything irl.

That's worthy of its own thread imo. Great question.

IRL I'd feel bad about not saying something because I'd want to be informed if that was me. If I care about the involved, I would say something.

Online, that's a tricky one because you don't typically know what's going on behind the scenes. You don't know if they're even involved until it comes to light - which is usually when some messy shit happens. Only comes to your attention when it's too late.

Very different from real life where there's more transparency about the nature of people's involvement with each other (when within the same circle) but less transparency about the bad shit people do.

The convo gets distorted when you keep pulling from IC examples because it's a unique atmosphere. There's a huge gender disparity there and exposures happened there repeatedly. That isn't a reflection of how shit plays out outside of an IC/internet forum context.

When woman sending explicit shit to a guy she knows in person, in ordinary circumstances she has no way of knowing if he's violated that trust before. A guy could be sending every nude pic he gets to his bestfriends and his girl wouldn't know about it. Revenge aint even the usual motivation for sharing shit. Sometimes, niggas are just immature and tryna show their friends what they're getting. That's harder to quantify and the victim usually stays in the dark. In real life, the guys who pass shit around don't have it stamped on their foreheads. That is why you have to protect yourself.
