This is kind of a silly question really though like why does anybody watch any type of movies?

You could ask why do ppl watch action films and say "how could a grown man get excited watching car chases and gun fights?"

Some scientists suggest we make up monsters without movies like how kids imagine monsters under their bed.

It may have something to do with our biological fear of predators like Bears and wolves and other ppl.

There's a certain pleasure in getting this simulated fear then the relief of knowing you're safe.

Same reason ppl watch comedy films,to feel humor.

Also it's just entertainment.
