Scary Movies, Help Me Understand

Paranormal activity should be in the horror movie hall of fame.

They gave you a charismatic couple that was really really relatable. Like they acted in a way to make you feel like you were watching some real people you knew....

Then they just fucked with them the whole movie..... That shit was amazingly done. Like I swear I did not want niggaz to die in the first or second one

15k turned to almost 200m WW and further lead to a whole studio being opened. Further leading to Blumhouse making a killing as the studio.

I know what you mean it’s like how I won’t buy scary video games

why would I pay to buy a game I’m too scared to kinda play?

why would I volunteer myself to be scared?

As far as movies rarely do I ever find them scary but it doesn’t make sense to see them because they aren’t ever good
Why do people pay for roller coasters?

It's the thrill famo.

Horror films are so low budget, they look so cheesy nowadays. I find them to be more funny than anything else.

Blair witch project pissed me off. There was literally nothing scary about that movie.
If youre a person like me, the thought of being in the bush at night is terrifying all on its own, so that movie freaked me out cuz it played on my imagination.

The marketing team was A1 for it's time lol I remember the trailer was talked about like crazy then the movie dropped. Mad parodies after but agreed movie was stupid af and wasn't even any witches in that thang smh.

i love horror movies. they don’t have to scare me (they almost never do). hell they don’t even have to be good. overall i find them extremely entertaining

phycological
slasher
supernatural
found footage

give me all that shit

Really, it is the thrill. And you try to chase that thrill. I cant pin point what made me this why.
Most horror movies dont scare me because they use cgi. The ones that use costumes are better. I dont play too many horror games cause those are a little to immersive. Only ones I played were "dead space" and "last of us". I was playing "last of us 2 " bout an hour ago. Im on a level where it is mad dark and im fighting this big ass monster. Whole time im like "I cant do this. I cant do this", on the edge of my seat. Scared as hell but I continue anyway, lol. I like survival movies and games.

there's different takes on horror. Take the different motives and aesthetic between movies like dracula, the fly, alien or hellraiser and ur average Jason-esque slasher flick. the first three are slower paced, visually engaging and atmospherically evil/disturbing/menacing etc (also usually better written) and the other's blatantly visceral, over the top and in ur face. different kinds of thrills involved.

jump scare shit is wack to me. i love the atmospheric, suspenseful style of horror. when surrealism's filtered through the lens of dark, shadowy imagery it just hits different. maybe some of us are naturally intrigued with the idea of mortality. it represents the unknown, and that's inherently imaginative and fantastical. n i guess there's someting about watching disturbing things but at the same time knowing it's not real .. ur actually comfortable and safe right where u are. there's that competing sense of fright and relaxation that stirs the emotions.

blair witch genuinely did scare me but that was years ago. the horror is implied and not just shown outright and the way they filmed it made it seem real. it was done really effectively imo. plus i dunno about anyone else but the thought of being out in the woods at night... hell nah.

the ring was scary asf to me too but i was a kid.

Past a certain point, there's nothing a movie can do to scare you. There's nothing scarier than bills and shit lol.

But what horror movies have that other genres don't, is that they're just fun and engaging. A decent scary movie that ain't really scary is still very entertaining when watched with a crowd. You're always gon try to put yourself in the position of the character getting chased by the killer/monster/demon. It's a call and response. If the movie is done right, you've laughed, jumped, yelled at the screen, and been surprised all in the same movie.

I don’t allow AP to put down the thread anymore and try to chop it at the knees and he kicks me out

FĂźhrer ass nigga

I don’t do “scary” movies...80’s horror movies fucked me up...oddly enough I can watch real scenes of death on docs, internet, news, etc etc

Crime dramas prolly my favorite genre next to docs but in usually watch comedies to bring some balance to all tha negative shit I’m exposed to
