Scary Movies, Help Me Understand

I love watching Friday the 13th now and wonder how I ever thought it was scary lol

Yeah, im not a fan of gore. Horrors with over the top gore usually suck. I guess that is why mist slasher films dont do anything for me.

Why do people get on roller coaster rides? You find that odd as well?

It's the adrenaline rush and an appreciation for not just the emotion of fear being evoked but the creative, artistic elements behind it as well.

I know what you mean it’s like how I won’t buy scary video games

why would I pay to buy a game I’m too scared to kinda play?

why would I volunteer myself to be scared?

As far as movies rarely do I ever find them scary but it doesn’t make sense to see them because they aren’t ever good

real talk on the games I never played resident evil cuz zombies used to creep me the fuck out just couldn’t even do it as a kid

Psychological thrillers is really my shit, not necessarily horror. And a horror movie doesn't literally have to scare me for me to consider it good depending on how it was put together.

But overall for real horror as a genre done been garbage since the end of the 90s so 🤷‍♂️

!. I like to see ppl get killed, shit funny to me and I like the effects.

2.I like the societal aspects of horror, for example The first The Night Of The Living Dead, was about racism and the second is about commercialism

Slasher movies came from societies fears of real serial killers and urban/suburban crime, etc.

3.I like the psychology of the dark sides of ppl.

4.Sometimes when a movie is scary scary I just like the darkness of it all,the adrenalin.

Same reason why some ppl ride rollercoasters.

Also because Freddy is cool,Pinhead is cool,Candyman is cool.

In a movie? Name one
Off the top with no looking ,Grimm Love, it's a true story and a horror movie about this dude who wanted to eat a person and a person that wanted to be eaten and well he ate him quit graphically.

The Devil's Rejects, while fairly mainstream is dark.

Recently,Herditary is a pretty fucked up movie.

Then you got shit like A Serbian film, and Anti Christ

And also Tyler Perry is still making movies

I can take gore in movies it don’t bother me

devil’s rejects lol

hereditary was cool but there was only one part of that movie that was scary to me and it was when the mom chased him up the stairs lmao

haven’t heard of the other two might be interesting

lol @ Tyler perry

Funny enough freeman mentioned it but I actually liked it follows as a horror film

and I couldn’t tell you why. It worked for me like the sense of some supernatural thing to kill you that will walk towards you the entire time so you can never relax
