re-read what I wrote... I said that is what mainstream media is claiming

Baby definitely came to the Neptunes looking to re-ignite his career though...

LMAO

Re-ignite his career? Big tymers released I got that Work the year before What happened to that boy and that shit was everywhere

And Wayne dropped Lights out and that corny ass movie Baller Blockin.

Cash money did not need any help from anybody bruh

How old are you?

compare "Bling Bling" to "What Happened to That Boy" and tell me they are the same style... fuck outta here

Wayne and the clipse all still was wearing (oversized clothes).

Baps was being rocked in LA but didn't get popular till Skateboard P not the Clipse.

Yall niggas gon learn to respect LA when it comes to trends.

Yea but the Clipse didnt

C'mon man... you are splitting hairs

The Clipse were the Neptunes premier artists... my original argument is that Lil Wayne took a lot of their "swagger" after they worked together not just BAPE...even the whole mixing drugs on the stove and all that (not saying that the Clipse were the only ones doing those types of "drug rhymes")

Now you saying Wayne stole the drug music from them? Even though he had albums out with shit like that?

Even though he worked with Baby and Slim, two niggas that actually moved big dope?

You tripping bruh

I'm just let you have it bruh.

BIG rocked a BAPE coat in the 90's. I would say Pharrell popularized it but it was around for awhile before that...

Lupe has a mixtape named after it too...

drake wrote duppy and was like

Pusha wrote the story of adidon and was like

now drake like

Pretty much an accurate description.

Let's just call a spade a spade. Bape is knockoff air Force ones which is why Nike tried to sur them.

I give bape credit though because Nike started doing more stuff with the silhouette once bape made it popular

Can't believe we are at this point in the discussion though

You just talking the bape sneakers. The rest of the line was on some other stuff

Nigga take your ass to a crossfit gym.... Just walk in and look around during peak hours. See what you can see.

Then slap yourself after you come to realize how foolish this statement was
Son... if it's all shiny like that and it's on late night after drinks, you mean to tell me you can debit card yourself, insert chip, and remove clean???

The fuck crossfit gotta do with shit...

The thing about Ghost Writers is that you don't know who wrote what do to the fact they are not listed

I know but it was just ignorance cuz a lot of them niggas were purists and not thinking about the future of rap music being so commercialised more than its ever been. I told them it doesnt matter and even said MJ has songs he never wrote & is a legend. I said the fact Eazy E has songs written & is remembered as an (if not the) originator of Gangsta Rap doesnt matter. I said the bold and niggas LOST THEIR SHIT SMMFH LOLOLOL.

Thing is tho mj was a singer so his talent was singing that was the skill so somebody writing for him aint nothing.

Rappers dont get signed off their voice it just part of it. If they not writing anybody can just jack a flow a roll with it.

Also truth be told the way these dudes been forced to turnover projects to stay relevant they may need all the help they can get. I myself have been penning a song now for the last 3 weeks. All I have is the first verse and the hook with a treatment for the first 8 bars of the 2nd verse. After almost a month.

Now I pride myself in having a natural poetic flair which helped me pen lyrics that made all my friends go "that shit is fire!" but it took a hell of a lot of my time to perfect that one verse and hook to my standards. Being that I'm not a music pro and it's just a hobby I have the luxury of taking my time and revising my own work like that with 0 help.

In doing that I also understand why dudes like Common and Nas take their sweet time between projects. You find yourself writing and rewriting just one verse at least 15 times. Now these dudes have been certified for 20 plus years. It won't hurt their legacy at all to take their sweet time writing records. Their audience is loyal and more on the niche side of things. They'll be there for them no matter how long they take.

But if you're Drake or a Kanye West who make that Mickey D's music for the instant gratification generation that luxury walked out the door a long time ago. It really is a case of "what have you done for me lately?" and relevance when it comes to the mainstream side of things. So to supply that kind of demand and not buckle under pressure you can't go it alone.

This dude need to drop a song, tweet, something

The thread has come full circle now. We talking about fashion in here now.
