Pulling Mister B's coon card 🦝...

Ive said this before on here but it's just my thing to make a distinction between systemic racism (what u described, which is completely valid) and the general term 'racism", which I've always known as feeling superior to another race or hating another race, regardless of how the power structure changes its impact. It's basically semantics, and maybe a bit pointless. But that's how I've understood racism.

your understanding of racism is at its basic level and its always ok to learn and grow your perception of things. i too thought racism was being mean to other races but racism, especially in america, is far more complex than hurt feelings.

your understanding of racism is at its basic level

I see what you’re saying but just because something is at its “basic” level doesn’t mean it’s definition or meaning is altered..

All racism doesn’t have to be systematic…at its core racism is simply a personal prejudice towards another race. If enough people joins that idea it becomes cultural, if the government adds laws and standards based on that prejudice it then becomes systematic..

If you believe black people cant be racist due to America’s history then that’s understandable and I rarely argue with people who believe that…

But if a black kid beats up a white kid and murders him because he has a disdain for his race, then you’d be ridiculous to NOT see it as an act of racism..

Race, I understand systemic racism. I know it's not just about hurt feelings. Racist whites in power have the control and influence to subjugate others. We don't have that to anywhere near their degree.

But it sounds weird hearing "X race can't be racist". Because hurt feelings, as much as we can contrast their consequences against mass systemic subjugation to make them seem lesser in comparison, can still take a toll on someone's mental health, their appreciation of society, their faith in humanity and their willingness to treat ppl with respect.

I work with mostly Filipinos and if I found that most of them were racist to me for being black (prejudice, discriminatory, etc) I'd feel anger but also extremely uncomfortable. And I know if u flipped the race dynamic around it could be the same shit.

And tbh, I've heard some rhetoric from black Jews (5 percenters? I don't know the term, those dude talking about Yeshua) that's reminiscent of white nationalists, and that kinda scares me Because it's that disrespectful , hateful and brazen.

the definition of racism was never correct in the first place. using the Webster dictionary and its racist origins for your understanding of racism *whew* is a failed mission in itself. thats why reading and studying outside the scope of slanted definitions and narratives is important

a Black person killing a white person because they are white would be a hate crime. the Black person acted with prejudice. the same if a white person kills a Black person based off of his or her race.

Racism would the system that gives the Black person for killing the white person a 100 yrs while
only sentencing the white person who kills the Black person to 10. (which happens often)

Racism functions as a system that foster inequalities at every level. its deeper and far more complex than feelings and attitudes.

you also have to take into account historical contexts and records whenever assessing racism.

honestly what are you talking about?

mental health toll??? huh??? appreciation of society??? faith in humanity???? Black people have been watching themselves die on loop in the news and in their respective communities for centuries. we are predominantly and overwhelmingly predisposed to unsafe foods, poisoned water, medical care disparities, homelessness, prisons, police, etc and youre comparing it to *checks notes* some random white persons feelings being hurt???

and why are you scared of 5 percenters or hebrew Israelites ??? have they taken out any white people that you know of??? how are you comparing them to white nationalist???

as someone who use to run in those circles, 5 percenters and HI should be the least of your worries

Not just white ppl, any race of ppl. No matter how the racial dynamic is mixed up.

But my point's not to equate severity of outcome. I'm just laying it out there that racism can exist on all sides while also acknowledging that the resulting consequences can be far worse depending on the dynamic.

Ppl take issue when i express the toll it can take on ppl of all races. I don't want to see that taken lightly or downplayed. That's what happens when ppl claim it's merely hurt feelings. We gotta look at both sides of the coin. Because why not?

What scares me is the extremist talk. The hate it represents. What should I care if benefit in some way being of a shared race with hateful ppl? I don't just stand for being black, I stand for being black among a universal existence. I expect decency from everyone. There are many paths to greatness, I'll take the one that isn't exclusionary.

James had like a 6th grade education and was literally “scratching and surviving” per tha theme song in tha 70’s in Chicago

He was not on tha fast track to wealth with or without Florida…at least she loved him 🤷🏽‍♂️
That could still get you far back in those days though. If Florida wasn't constantly stifling the family's gains every time they got ahead they would've been alright.
