Ive said this before on here but it's just my thing to make a distinction between systemic racism (what u described, which is completely valid) and the general term 'racism", which I've always known as feeling superior to another race or hating another race, regardless of how the power structure changes its impact. It's basically semantics, and maybe a bit pointless. But that's how I've understood racism.

I see what you’re saying but just because something is at its “basic” level doesn’t mean it’s definition or meaning is altered..

All racism doesn’t have to be systematic…at its core racism is simply a personal prejudice towards another race. If enough people joins that idea it becomes cultural, if the government adds laws and standards based on that prejudice it then becomes systematic..

If you believe black people cant be racist due to America’s history then that’s understandable and I rarely argue with people who believe that…

But if a black kid beats up a white kid and murders him because he has a disdain for his race, then you’d be ridiculous to NOT see it as an act of racism..

Race, I understand systemic racism. I know it's not just about hurt feelings. Racist whites in power have the control and influence to subjugate others. We don't have that to anywhere near their degree.

But it sounds weird hearing "X race can't be racist". Because hurt feelings, as much as we can contrast their consequences against mass systemic subjugation to make them seem lesser in comparison, can still take a toll on someone's mental health, their appreciation of society, their faith in humanity and their willingness to treat ppl with respect.

I work with mostly Filipinos and if I found that most of them were racist to me for being black (prejudice, discriminatory, etc) I'd feel anger but also extremely uncomfortable. And I know if u flipped the race dynamic around it could be the same shit.

And tbh, I've heard some rhetoric from black Jews (5 percenters? I don't know the term, those dude talking about Yeshua) that's reminiscent of white nationalists, and that kinda scares me Because it's that disrespectful , hateful and brazen.
