Breaking News Pacific Palisades currently under an evacuation order due to the fast-moving, wind-driven fire | Update: LAPD has @ Least One Arsonist In Custody

For those that don't know

When there's a federally declared disaster, there are two phases to dole out money

ISP and RSP

Immediate services program
Regular services program

Immediate is what the name implies. It's something to quickly give folks something to try and get essentials

The rsp takes a bit more timing because you have to do surveys of how many people are actually impacted and still then, the point of these two programs ISN'T to make people whole by replacing everything they lost.

This is a bad explanation for one of the jobs I supervise at my place of work 🙃

I got my money during Katrina in a few waves

So, yeah...

Just cause you don't remember hearing about it doesn't mean it didn't happen
What I meant was people saying $700 is all that is given out

I know the $700 is for no immediate assistance, then there’s long term assistance

It’s been that way for over 10 years

I don't know if dude had bad intentions or not. I do feel his pain though. We've gotten to a point where you can't really trust anything you see on the net anymore. Even if you do due diligence, there's still the possibility you can be led astray.

Yeah, on one hand $770 ain't shit. On the other, anything is something to somebody with nothing. It's not like the government can replace people's homes and all their lost possessions.
Huh? They really could replace homes and possessions. Do you know how many billions have been sent to Isreal and the Ukraine? Do you know how much they spend on feeding and housing illegal immigrants? They gave 63.1 billion in foreign aid just in 2024. That's a good number to start with for your own citizens

Most of the "aid" we give Ukraine goes right back to US defense department. Please don't think that they are living high off the hog...

I tried the explaining this to a few dumbasses a couple of times. This "aid" means that the US is buying arms from the industrial military complex. Which in turns means they're taking money from tax payers and paying themselves under the disguise of "helping" other countries.

So in turn every bullet or bomb that kills children in Gaza or Men and Women in Ukraine every US citizen paid for it.

You're talking about what could be done if we had a completely different government with different priorities. You're right. Hypotheticals don't help with real life problems though. That money you talking about is already earmarked and gone. They can't just go to Ukraine, take the tanks back, sell them to another country, and then use the money to build new houses.

Where's our aid?

How about you give them zero to start with. Then you don't have to take anything back

Dude out of 175 billion, 106 billion went directly to Ukraine. Stop being misleading. They spent 69 billion over here. 106 billion would go a long way in California. Stop talking deceptive. 106 billion has never been or will ever be a small amount of money
