Breaking News Pacific Palisades currently under an evacuation order due to the fast-moving, wind-driven fire | Update: LAPD has @ Least One Arsonist In Custody

Newsome was always going to take the heat because everyone is against him right now. Unfortunately Newsome has not done well in not appearing as the typical out of touch politician padding their pockets while preaching wokeness.

I read that article from PBS and their fact checking is odd. They said Trump was spreading false information, yet spent most of the article admitting it was local negligence that prevented more preparedness. We spent almost 3 billion on a water project ten years ago... and we haven't even started the project yet. Trump may not be completely right, but he's also not wrong.

Now, we have CA politicians lobbying to build apartments and duplexes where Black people's homes burned down. California is one of the most racist states. They constantly get sneaky when it comes to displacing Black people. These fires absolutely wrecked a big chunk of what remained for Black home ownership in SoCal.

Your second paragraph referring to prop 1? Tax payers already paid into improvements and they haven't started a single project yet. After 10 damn yrs. Also the regulations dont allow the money to be spent on water storage and water desalination projects.

I read two to three yrs ago the the reservoirs had so much water they had to control dump it to prevent floods. The amount of water they wasted was insane. And they do this EVERYTIME they have a surplus of water.

U don't have to be some spooky closet Republican to come to an opinion they're incompetent. That's a lazy cop out but I give lurker credit for engaging.

Reading through these exchanges, its clear you live there and dont really know whats going on. You're the same one that said the fires were going on cuz yall ran outa water, because of Newsome. That was clearly debunked and instead of owning up to ya blunder, you doubled down until you could find some other conspiracy to complain about.

And now when you dont have anything to go back at the facts i presented (with cited sources), you start yelling that im some liberal, bring up bots & other nonsense. Only people I ever seen spout that type of nonsense is those middle-aged, white, weirdos, that constantly watch Fox News and those dumb fake alpha male manoshere podcasts.

Imagine being mad I'm not instantly believing fake news that easily debunked. That Bill Burr clip was right. Fires just happened and going crazy, yet we somehow got all these Cali government & fire experts, that know exactly how, why it happened, who to blame, but none of them are or have ever been in government in LA or worked in the fire department. What a joke.

And if yall wanna quote me arguing how qualified you are and how much I dont know, then why didnt you warn anyone before hand since you knew so damn much.
I said the reservoir was out of water and posted Newsom's OWN tweet saying he will "investigate". The only thing you do in here is post tweets, offer zero insight to anything, and talk down anyone who doesn't kiss gov official asscheeks. It's wild to claim people out here don't know what's going on, yeh sure twitter bots outside of Cali know more than us, gtfo. Let me know when they roll up to a distribution center to help give out supplies and aid. I posted a NPR article from 3 years ago pointing to these exact issues and you glossed over it, because it doesn't fit your narrative.

No one said you were a liberal no one cares here, you though seem to try to bring politics into a disaster thread. You're so invested in pushing an agenda that you're here trying to tell people in impacted areas to not believe their lying eyes...to ignore what we've seen living here for 30+ years...to not place any blame on officials who dropped the bal. Nah fuck that and your garbage attacks. These officials are paid and put in office by US, if they don't do their job then they should be held accountable like anyone else.

Fires "don't just happen" out here. We have had wildfires since forever and known how to manage them. That hasn't been done in this case, that's the issue.

Yep, it's been 10 years and nothing done at all. It's like the High Speed Rail form LA to SF that cost100 billion, approved by voters back in 2008....and still not done.

This is the shit we deal with out here. Don't get me started on our school systems and how money is wasted

Saying I only post tweets in this thread with no insight and bring politics into every disaster thread is a straight up lie. Its like some of yall forget & then get angry that we can check to see if something you say is true. Some people really hate accountability.

But the icing on the cake for me is you still not making the connection on why this wildfire is way different compared to the ones of past. Idk how you arnt making the connection other people see, even tho you live there. It should be the other way around

Once again, its crazy obvious you're seeing what you wanna see & I know im not the only one in here that sees it. You hate Newsom so bad for w/e reason, you even blamed him for the Paradise fires that happened in 2018. A fire that was literally started by a power company. And the funny part is Newsom didnt take office as Governor till 2019 lol.

But you got it bro, I wont quote any more of ya posts so say w/e you want.

Imma ignore the apartment part, cuz idk about that, although thats on brand with rich people in America.

I fully expect Newsome to get heat and be subject to tough questioning. I dont even care about that, cuz thats what he signed up for. My thing is i'm never gunna get online and promote lies or misleading shit like other people do. Especially shit easily researchable. IDC what party they belong to.

You're gunna have to quote the parts of the article that said that, because i dont recall it saying that. Off the top of my head I remember it saying Trump made up the info about his supposed bill, because it didnt exist. It then went to mention another water project (or bill) Trump could of meant, but even that wouldnt of helped LA because that water would of went somewhere else. I think further south to another part of Cali. Then when it spoke on the local infrastructure, it was said it was never designed to fight wildfires, it was designed to fight structural fires in the city. The hurricane force winds is what sealed the deal for this to become a crazy outa control disaster.

As for that water protect from 10 years ago you guys spoke about, I looked it up (because im not a cali resident and never heard of it) and found some things about it. I'll post it in another post cuz its a lot. But i'll just tell you the cliffs.
  • It started
  • Its over 3 billion now (think its closer to 5)
  • stuff has been built & completed, but it looks like its a bunch of the smaller stuff
  • the big stuff was tied up in permits and regulation
  • Few years ago Newsom agree'd with other politicans it was taking too long and did some shit to speed along the permits or w/e
  • Article is a few years old, but said it wouldnt break ground till 2025
  • For the big projects they said it takes years to plan and develop this stuff

You always put the extra in your post, no one said you bring politics into every disaster thread, I'm speaking about THIS one. I don't know you from any other thread lol

And how are these wildfires different form previous ones??? We have them every damn year here. If you were from CA you wouldn't be saying the nonsense you keep throwing out. Is it the Santa Anas? Because guess what...they ain't new here either.

You say I "hate" Newsom, nah I just expect people we voted into office to do their job. That's at every level. I voted for Gray Davis, and when dude was fucking around with power companies and screwing over the state we recalled him. We already almost recalled Newsom before this fire. Keep acting like you know what's going on here because politico talking heads and "fact checkers aka more politicos tell you so. They love people like you, it's why Congress is filled with them serving 20+ years, making millions, no accountability.

It's funny, you bring up Newsom and the Paradise fire.....you then point to the power company as the start......and then think it's funny that Newson didn't take office until 2019, but you're not connecting dots because you're not from here. I didn't blame Newsom for the Paradise fires, I said he mishandled them which he did. he was elected 3 days before they happened and handled the aftermath and recovery of them all in a pathetic way. PG&E were bigtime donors to him

Oh look here's Newsom prioritizing PG & E over victims....

And here's Newsom's office crafting law to protecting PG&E after they murdered 84 people....

This is from a year ago and breaks it all down for you

This man just posted bulletin point excuses for why a project put into play a decade ago is still dead in the water. 🤣

Wait till he hears about the high speed rail that was approved in 2008 and still not done.

My guy, the funding was to prevent fires and help the water situation. 10 yrs in the money sitting in there untapped, cities are burned to the ground and the response was extremely insufficient. Just bc they giving u their reasons for not getting shit done, doesn't negate the fact that they aren't getting shit done.

Just bc u tell me the reservoir was down bc it needed repair doesn't negate the fact that it was sitting there for a year not getting repaired and he's just now investigating lol.

All you're doing is making excuses for them and I think the only reason is bc u on some partisan shit. In any other context u prob wouldn't have an issue calling it like it is.

What's insane is if this was the other way around happening under Republican leadership this thread would be going a completely different way lol
