i haven’t played a wrestling video game since the smackdown vs raw joints
am i missing out?
Alot of people trash 2k wrestling games but mostly because every year it's just tweaked a little so it's probably just repetitive to them but I fuck with them more then the older games because they have more realism, you can download other people's created wrestlers and end up with perfected created wrestlers who you thought 2k actually made for the games like Omega, Naito, Tessa, and Jericho from AEW. 2020 is the only one I dont like because it was put out broken and 2k knows it.

2k19 was the best one in a while imo.

I aint mad that they taking a year off for the next one cause that means it hopefully wont be some thrown together trash. I wouldn't mind if they kept it that way going forward. It always sucks to me whenever you put a lot of time into your universe and you get it just where you want and then boom, another one comes out with an updated roster and a few small changes.
Big issue I have too, you finally get your roster filled with wrestlers from other organizations(thanks to download create content) and every time when I have a full complete jumbo roster of all companies the next game comes out and back to square one. Feels pointless everytime....but my ass be back starting from square one as always. Lol

Like there are wrestlers I didnt even get to touch because by the time I get settled the next game already next month. Sorry Rock. Bret Hart, and a few others I didnt even touch in 2018.

WWE Hall of Famer and pro wrestling legend Gerald Brisco is no longer with WWE.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Brisco was let go in the recent wave of cuts. Brisco has worked with the WWE since 1984 and has been an important talent scout for the company. He famously discovered Brock Lesnar and signed him to a developmental deal. His on-screen role in the promotion has been limited as of late but he was one of Vince McMahon’s lackeys during the Attitude Era.

Was Universe mode on there when you played or was it still GM mode? if not then thats like the biggest change from what I can remember.. that and then the creation suite but like OG said every year its usually just an updated roster with a few changes but still fun.

With 2k18 they reintroduced my career with created characters but the story wasn't as long and it got repetitive. 2k19 they brought it back and did a lot more with it. It starts you at the very beginning of your characters career and has you wrestling for a fictional company that does shows in a gym. Even the characters you compete aagainst are fictional. After a while you finally make it into the WWE and the story continues. I really liked that shit. Even got to tour japan and compete in mexico on there.

Now that im done with it I spend most my time creating for my custom shows. That creation suite is the nicest its ever been.. you can customize just about everything. From your own show, ppv, titles, titantron vids, matches, etc.

Let's see who REALLY want out them contracts

Smart move...

Fans lost it when they laid off talent. It’s obvious they’re still cleaning out the house. With no ability to use them outside wwe tv, they’re gonna allow talent to leave instead of them picking who should go... fan response will be much different. Best way to go for now

I wish ROH or even Impact Wrestling has the type of backing the AEW has and they could get a TV deal like AEW. That could be a place for some of the now unemployed could go but eh

they should of done this the first time around. A lot of the talents that got released were rumored to wanna go before anyways for the most part

this right here will be telling

Fire pro is super dope.. I have 2 gba ones.. the ps2 and ps4... the caws are goat along w the move sets... graphics don't bother me, but I can see how younger fans might not like em... Fire pro is easily the best IMO

UPDATED: WWE has been hit with more class action lawsuits, one from the Gross Law Firm that claims WWE made “materially false and/or misleading statements and/or failing to disclose” that they perpetrated a fraudulent scheme.

Another from Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check specifically mentioned the “tensions” between WWE and the Saudi government, centered around the Saudi government owing WWE millions of dollars.

However, by at least early 2019, tensions in the relationship between WWE and the Saudi government had reached a breaking point. The Saudi government had refused to make millions of dollars in payments owed to WWE. Further, OSN was contemplating the early termination of its obligations under its broadcasting agreement (ultimately terminated in March 2019) and had rebuffed WWE’s efforts to renew the agreement. These developments threatened WWE’s ability to reach a renewed media agreement in 2019, which WWE told investors was critical to its expansion plans in the MENA region and its growth prospects. Moreover, WWE was facing withering consumer engagement in its traditional markets. Rather than disclose these adverse developments, the defendants represented that WWE had continued to bolster its relationship with Saudi Arabia and was making significant progress on the renewal of the critical media agreement and its business initiatives in the country.”
This follows the earlier class action suit (described below) that referenced WWE wrestlers being held “hostage” by the Saudi government as part of a dispute with Vince McMahon.

The 44-page lawsuit was filed last week on April 24 and claims that the executives took actions without the best interests of the shareholders in mind. Among the claims that are made, it alleges that the top executives made “false statements” and failed “to disclose adverse facts known to them about” the promotion. Additionally, the lawsuit by Merholz and Klein alleged the following, making mention of the controversy surrounding WWE’s last trip to Saudi Arabia and the Saudi government holding WWE wrestlers “hostage” as part of a dispute with Vince McMahon:

“The Company’s most senior executives and directors took advantage of WWE’s inflated stock price to sell millions of dollars’ worth of their own WWE shares during this time period. In a single stock sale on March 27, 2019, WWE’s Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) and Chairman of the Board, Defendant V. McMahon, sold more than 3.2 million WWE shares for over $261 million in proceeds. This sale occurred when there were only a few days left in the Company’s 2019 first quarter which insiders knew was experiencing poor financial performance and despite growing behind-the-scenes problems with the Saudis.”

“WWE held the Crown Jewel live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After the event ended, shocking news reports surfaced claiming that the Saudi government was effectively holding a number of WWE wrestlers “hostage” in retaliation for McMahon’s decision to delay a live broadcast of Crown Jewel until the Saudis made tens of millions of dollars in past due payments. Estimates for the amount outstanding ranged from $60 million to as much as $500 million. Several wrestlers detailed their experience during the ordeal on social media platforms”
