Hunter turning babyface would have saved the whole thing. Not turning in the fall against Kurt made sense cause he would have went from #1 Heel, to #3 Face, but not turning after Mania really left Austin without anyone to work with.
Bruce Pritchard said that was the plan: to have HHH eventually turn face after he and Austin lost the tag titles to Jericho and Benoit but he unfortunately tore his quad and they basically began the invasion angle the next week. Creative had no patience for some reason
