WWE issued the following press release on Tuesday to announce that Bruce Prichard has replaced Eric Bischoff as the executive director of WWE Smackdown.

Stamford, Conn., October 15, 2019 – WWE (NYSE: WWE) today announced that it has named Bruce Prichard the Executive Director of Friday Night SmackDown, reporting directly to WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.

Prichard will oversee the creative development of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX and ensure integration across all platforms and lines of business, replacing Eric Bischoff.
Prichard brings nearly 40 years of experience in sports entertainment with an extensive background in character development and creative storytelling. Over the course of his career, Prichard has served in a variety of roles including announcer, producer, agent and on-screen personality. Earlier this year, Prichard returned to WWE as a member of the company’s creative team.

I don't think that Smackdown/FOX deal is going to work out.

First they got rid of Firefly Funhouse then they remove Bischoff as creative exec of SD. Not looking good.

Did Eric even get to do anything as head of Smackdown and why would Fox want Bray Wyatt if they was going to kill off what made him popular

A WWE representative has confirmed to PWInsider that Eric Bischoff is no longer with the company.

This is not a case of Bischoff being replaced by Bruce Prichard and stepping into another role.
He is no longer with World Wrestling Entertainment

This all but guarantees that something to wrestle with Bruce Pritchard is probably ending since he’s gonna be much more busy but 83 weeks with Eric Bischoff is gonna get much more entertaining depending on if he’s allowed to comment on his release?

Eric Bischoff is no longer with World Wrestling Entertainment, but he’s not burning any bridges either.
Bischoff was all class in his first message since being replaced by Bruce Prichard as SmackDown’s Executive Director. He chose to congratulate Prichard on the job promotion rather than talk about him leaving the company. “Bruce is a great producer, good friend and I am certain he is going to thrive in his position,” wrote Bischoff on social media. “He’s going to be working with a great team of the most dedicated and hard working people I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know.

He learned from his past. He in the endgame

Tonight's preview of WWE Backstage on FS1 will feature an announcement of a "trade" between Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown with Triple H appearing from the WWE Performance Center to discuss the trade.

Man I feel the same way. So far I'm not really invested in Smackdown. Dark Baley and Fiend aside, it's been underwhelming imo.

Cross and bliss traded to Smackdown for “future considerations”

I wonder who gonna go to RAW in their place cause of course somebodys getting traded in return

i thought it'd involve Bray or Rollins

Would Smackdown give up Bliss and Cross for the Fiend? i highly doubt it
