I was listening to Richard's hotline on Monday and something he brought up was quite interesting. He went through the number of title defenses that WWE and AEW do over the same period of time so far this year.
For AEW, they have somewhere between 10-13 matches per PPV, meaning that majority, if not all, of their main titles (not counting other promotions) are defended on a monthly basis now. Which means quicker builds.
For WWE, they average between 5-7 matches per PLE (Wrestlemania boosted that since they had more than normal). For each one of those there are 2-3 title matches where the title will vary, as no ONE title has been defended on ALL PLE's.
This brought an interesting thought. Back in 2002 when the brand split first started, Vince tried the RAW PPV and SMACKDOWN PPV model which didn't do great for numbers of each. NOW it seems they have melded that idea into that its a mix of each but not an exclusive, so that you can intertwine either brand and also you can preserve a multi month build for your title too (just look at Priest who will not have a match in Saudi, his build for his match presumably vs Drew will have more time to breathe).
It once again shows the long term booking aspect that Triple H has brought to the company and how he is able to keep it going even with monthly PLEs.
