Oh boy

CM Punk's dreams of headlining Wrestlemania will likely not be realized this year.

PWInsider.com can confirm that Punk suffered a torn triceps during the Men's Royal Rumble match and is believed to heading towards surgery after an appearance on tonight's Raw. Punk is in Tampa for the show.

The belief among sources we have spoken with is that post-surgery, Punk would likely need in the area of 4-6 months of recovery and physical therapy. If correct, that would obvioiusly put him out of Wrestlemania as a wrestler and if he gets the surgery within the next week, it likely means he wouldn't be able to return to the ring until this summer.

A review of the match shows that Punk may have been injured taking a DDT from Drew McIntyre. Punk rolled out of the ring holding his left arm following that spot. Punk suffered a torn triceps of his right arm while performing for AEW, so this would be a new injury, not a reoccurence of a previous injury. Punk was the final competitor eliminated by Cody Rhodes.

Punk returned to WWE this past November at the 2023 Survivor Series and wrestled two live event matches against Dominik Mysterio the following month. The Men's Royal Rumble match was his first televised WWE match since the 2014 Rumble match.

WWE had been building to Punk vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at Mania this April in Philadelphia. How they pivot remain unknown as this time.
Sucks. Rollins vs Gunther for WM. Next man up.

Its all goodm bounce back and be ready for Summer Slam. Rollins is another star who is steady injury prone, he still bounces back and im sure Punk will too.

Do the Rollins Punk match when both are at 100.

And Rollins is no longer champion

Punk might be done altogether in mainstream wrestling...

I say HHH give him one more shot in the company. Give him time to heal and get in shape (he needs to be in ring shape) because he was winded af in the Rumble match.

If Punk gets hurt again, then he's done wrestling in-ring. Either make him a trainer or put him on the NXT creative team.

As far as Rollins is concerned, have him drop the World Title to Gunther at WM.

HHH can do one of two scenarios with Gunther:

Elimination Chamber

IC Title:
Gunther(c) vs Chad Gable - Gable finally defeats Gunther for the IC gold.

WrestleMania
Champion vs Champion - Both Titles on the line.
Gunther vs Rollins

Also Gunther don't need to be rushing into a Mania World Title match right now straight from losing the IC title. I wouldnt pull that trigger til next year Summer Slam and build his world title hunt while Cody living up his run as champ.

Unfortunately the best bet is to call an audible and have Priest win the cash in even tho I was against it.

Nah bro Gunther need that main event push. WWE has bad track record of just letting guys cool off instead of keeping them in the mix of things. Gunther can definitely hold his own and he has consistently proved it and that Triple-Threat match at last year's Mania proved it.

He dont need it right away tho. Stay course with Cody. He can be in the main event scene after dropping the IC title taking out some decent names til its time to slay Cody.
