WWE has come to a new five year deal with the USA Network that will bring Friday Night Smackdown there starting in October 2024.

As part of the deal, WWE will broadcast four live NBC primetime specials, the first since WWF Main Event II in 1989, when The Mega-Powers exploded.

This deal does not include the media rights for Monday Night Raw and WWE NXT, which according to the release "will continue to air on USA Network through September 2024." That line implies that WWE would be leaving USA, but does not explicitly state such.

As we noted earlier in our post about WWE Friday Night Smackdown moving to the USA Network, the implication of the wording for Monday Night Raw and Tuesday's WWE NXT was that they could be leaving their current home on USA.

The Hollywood Reporter states in their Smackdown move coverage that is indeed what is happening, noting:

While the new deal will bring WWE to NBC primetime and SmackDown to USA on Friday nights, it will also mean the end of Raw and NXT on USA.
A source familiar with the Raw discussions tell The Hollywood Reporter that the market for the program is “extremely active,” with traditional linear networks, streaming services and “unexpected players” all interested.
Raw launched on the USA Network in January 1993 and has run there with the exception of WWE's deal with Viacom that saw the series jump to the now-defunct SpikeTV from September 2000 through 2005. The current incarnation of WWE NXT launched on USA as a weekly series in September 2017 following a run on the WWE Network. A previous "reality show" format of the brand aired on Syfy in 2010, replacing the WWE version of ECW, before shifting into an online series on WWE's website as the time.

Since the announcement that WWE has come to terms with the USA Network for a pact that will bring Smackdown to that cable network starting October 2024, Wall Street has reacted, and it's not good.

The TKO stock price, which opened at $100.87 has dropped $12.38 and is currently at $88.49.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that WWE's new deal with the USA Network that brings Smackdown to that cable network from October 2024 through October 2029 is believed to be worth $1.4 billion.

That would be a 40% increase over the series' previous pact with FOX, which was valued at $1 Billion.

I mean i guess it'd be a positive given no more head to head with football but that's just gonna be weird not having it on a Monday so i hope that aint true
