I already know about Memo, Conte and the entire Balco lab. Conte was a self-taught pharmacis who hooked up with Memo and developed the drug THG that became the number one designer drug of choice for dirty athletes. They were doing things nobody else had done before, tricked the sport world for many years back then but they were eventually brought down and so many athletes were exposed, including boxer Sugar Shane Mosley. Still doesn't change the fact that athletes on every level do get caught using steroids today, tomorrow and in the future no matter how good they are to hide it or how much they invest. They usually slip at some point or the drugs they use will eventually get detected.

Which is what I was saying... But when they do get caught they generally get light sentences or nothing at all, but the 'smaller' athletes or ones with no major sponsorships get hammered...

I wonder what type of substance Miller was using. Was it steroids? illegal supplements? Whatever the case is, AJ will now most likely get a new opponent.

Hearn: Luis Ortiz Was The First Name Anthony Joshua Gave Me

Anthony Joshua's debut fight in the United States could be in doubt after his promoter confirmed that Jarrell Miller failed a doping test.

Eddie Hearn says in a Twitter post that Joshua's camp had been informed by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association that there was an adverse finding in a sample collected from Miller on March 20.

Hearn says "we are working with all relevant parties and will update with more details soon."

Salita Promotions, which represents Miller, said Wednesday it was obtaining more information about VADA's finding and "will have more to say soon on this developing situation."

Joshua, who holds the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts, is scheduled to fight Miller on June 1 at Madison Square Garden.

During the promotional tour for the fight, Miller said both fighters had agreed to between 10 and 12 weeks of drug testing in the buildup to the bout.

When Hearn informed Joshua about the situation with Miller, he says the unified champion names Luis Ortiz was the first name his boxer requested.

‘[Ortiz] was the first name he gave me last night. I called him and just said, ‘mate, I’ve got terrible news, Miller’s failed a drug test’. He didn’t even sound that surprised. He said, ‘Okay, who’s next?’ ‘I asked who he wanted and he said absolutely anyone, no problem," Hearn told IFL TV.

Because of the amount of tickets that were sold, and 10,000 British fans heading over to the card, there is no discussion regarding a new date being set.

"We haven’t talked about a new date. We’ve sold 17,000 tickets with 10,000 Brits flying out, so we’ll deliver," Hearn said.

According to Hearn, there are several possible replacements and they would love Ortiz to be the guy.

"Love that fight, that is an ideal scenario," Hearn said. "That is a big fight. My feeling from their team is he won’t be ready."

Whether Jarrell Miller will remain his opponent apparently has not yet been determined. Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, also confirmed the adverse finding from the urine sample Miller provided the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association on March 20.

VADA has been contracted to administer the performance-enhancing drug testing for their 12-round heavyweight title fight scheduled for six weeks from Saturday night in New York. ESPN.com was the first to report Tuesday night that Miller tested positive for GW 501516, also known as endurobol, a banned substance that can burn off excess fat, speed up recovery while training and significantly enhance endurance.

The trash-talking Miller has accused Joshua of using PEDs, both before and after their fight was made.

It was Miller, however, who failed a PED test nearly five years ago, when he also was a kickboxer. The California State Athletic Commission suspended Miller for nine months and fined him $2,500 because he tested positive in June 2014 for methylhexaneamine, a dietary supplement used for weight loss and improving athletic performance, among other things.

Gennady Golovkin vs. Steve Rolls Finalized For June 8, MSG

It's a whole new ballgame for boxing's pound-for-pound superstar attraction GENNADY "GGG" GOLOVKIN! Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs), from Karaganda, Kazakhstan, brings his Big Drama Show back to the "Mecca of Boxing" -- Madison Square Garden for the first time in over two years in his eagerly-awaited DAZN debut on Saturday, June 8.

Golovkin, whose resume includes a record 20 consecutive middleweight title defenses (18 by way of knockout), has consistently drawn packed houses to the five previous events he has headlined at The Garden, dating back to 2013. He will rumble with undefeated Top-10 contender and Kronk Gym alumnus STEVE ROLLS (19-0, 10 KOs), from Toronto, Canada, in a battle, scheduled for 12 rounds, at a maximum weight of 164 lbs. Golovkin vs. Rolls kicks off the exclusive six-fight, three-year global partnership between GGG Promotions and DAZN, the world's fastest-growing sports streaming platform.

A two-city press tour, featuring both fighters, will take place next week, starting at Madison Square Garden on Monday, April 22, and concluding in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 23. Details on those events will be forthcoming.

Notably, this will be the second of two major boxing events The Garden will host on back-to-back boxing weekends – both of which will be live exclusively on DAZN. England's Anthony Joshua will make his United States and Madison Square Garden debut in a defense of his unified heavyweight title against Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller on June 1, just one week before Golovkin’s highly anticipated return on June 8.

Golovkin, 37, has reigned supreme in the Middleweight Division for nearly a decade. Eighteen of his record 20 title defenses came by way of knockout -- a 90% ratio -- which is sure to remain the division's highest knockout percentage for a world champion. Golovkin's tenure as champion ended when he lost a hotly disputed majority decision in a rematch with Canelo Alvarez last September. A dominant amateur standout and Olympic Silver Medalist before turning professional in 2006, Golovkin's career has been on a historic trajectory, including a 23-fight victory-by-knockout streak and unifying the WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO World Middleweight Titles. Golovkin has also proven himself to be box office gold. He has sold out the most iconic arenas of the world, including Madison Square Garden, T-Mobile Arena, O2 Arena, The Fabulous Forum, and StubHub Center.

Rolls, 35, making his debut at The Garden, will be looking to ice Golovkin with his version of a Canadian cold front. In his most recent fight, he won the vacant USBA middleweight title last December, via unanimous decision, over KeAndrae Leatherwood. World-rated No. 9 rated by the IBF, Rolls has stopped four of his last seven opponents while keeping his record perfect.

Teofimo Lopez Motivated To Expose The Lomachenko "Illusion"

By Thomas Gerbasi

The confidence of Teofimo Lopez isn’t obnoxious. It’s matter of fact, and if you don’t believe him, it’s almost confusing to him that you can’t see what he’s seeing.

But the thing is, there are starting to be more believers than skeptics when it comes to the unbeaten lightweight, who looks to move to 13-0 as a pro when he faces Edis Tatli on the Terence Crawford-Amir Khan undercard this weekend in New York City. But still, no one believes more than the 21-year-old Brooklynite.

“I have faith in God and I’m trusting his timing and doing what he has planned out for me to do,” said Lopez. “It’s a lot on my plate, but I know God wouldn’t have put me in these situations and these circumstances if he didn’t think I was ready for any of them. I know deep down in my heart and in my soul that I’m ready for this.”

The fact that he has to address such questions about his ambition shows you just how far the 2016 Honduran Olympian has come in just a dozen fights. And that’s a good thing for Lopez, who has taken the sport by storm over the last couple years, so much so that there was a debate whether he should have been given 2018 Prospect of the Year honors when many believe he already advanced past that stage.

“I must have been on everyone’s radar for Prospect of the Year, but some didn’t think so because they believed that I’m already a contender, and I appreciate that a lot,” he said. “I’m not even mad.”

Why would he be? Already top five across the major sanctioning bodies, Lopez is making his second start of 2019 on Saturday, and he expects that by the end of the year, he’ll be fighting for a belt. Yes, the ambition is clear. Just don’t call Lopez impatient.

“It’s nothing about being impatient; it’s nothing about jumping into deep waters,” he said. “It’s more so the fact that my skills are setting the tone already for me. My skill set and my skill level are setting that pace to where we will fight for a world title this year. All these other prospects, they still have to show the fans – and so do I – but I’m looking impressive and I’m looking ahead of all of them right now. So this is why we’re getting our shot.”

It’s difficult to argue with Lopez. In 2018, he made the walk to the ring four times, and after decisioning 44-fight vet Juan Pablo Sanchez, he blasted through 14-1 Vitor Jones, 25-1 William Silva and 34-3 Mason Menard. In February, he knocked out 31-2 Diego Magdaleno, and there aren’t too many 21-year-olds with less than 20 fights keeping a schedule like that.

And it’s just the way Lopez and his father / trainer Teofimo Lopez Sr. want it.

“We tell them (promoter Top Rank) we want the toughest guys out there and we want fights that will give us challenges,” said Lopez. “And we have the best matchmakers in the boxing game – Brad Goodman and Bruce Trampler – so they know what they’re doing, and we leave it in their hands for the most part. They know that I’m gonna accept any fight that comes in line. We tell them that we want tough fights and that’s what they look for, to see if there’s a fighter that can go the distance with Teofimo Lopez. And they can try, but that’s the thing, that’s why we’re changing the game.”

But has Lopez been getting what he wants? Has he been challenged yet, has he had one of those nights where he’s thought that things might get interesting?

“Each fight is interesting,” he said. “I get to learn something new each time, and as I fight these opponents and these guys that are ranked higher, of course it’s interesting to see what they can come up with next. What style are they going to bring to me that I already know, but I haven’t fought in a while? Or what’s interesting is the fact that they have so many fights and I take them out so quickly, things like that.

“I’m impressed by how everything’s been going and I’m impressed with myself knowing that I can bang it in there with these guys that have so much experience as professional fighters and with the amount of fights that I have. I’m doing what I have to do,” Lopez continues. “This guy that I’m fighting, Edis Tatli, he’s 31-2 and this is another guy with a lot of experience. The same thing with Diego Magdaleno. He was no pushover. So I learn each time I fight these dudes.”

So what’s the problem? Why has Lopez become a lightning rod for nitpickers on social media? It may be his post-fight celebrations or his precocious nature. But it’s likely because he has made no secret of his desire to fight one of the best in the game – WBA / WBO champion Vasyl Lomachenko – sooner rather than later. And despite Lomachenko’s dominant efforts and otherworldly skill set, Lopez doesn’t waver from his belief that he has the goods to put it on the Ukrainian star.

“There’s only one God, and that’s not Lomachenko,” laughs Lopez. “Lomachenko is just a guy that has everyone under this type of illusion. He’s doing this stuff with his legs and everything just to trick all you guys into thinking he’s the best fighter in the world. You guys will see. If they let the fight happen between me and him, you will see that the man just had you under an illusion.”

Lopez is everything you want to see in a prizefighter. He’s confident, he knocks people out, and he wants it all…now. And he won’t argue with you.

“It’s about doing something different,” he said. “Each fighter that was outstanding and great – Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Roy Jones Jr., Hector Camacho – they all had their unique style and unique flavor. And the whole thing is that Teofimo Lopez has that, that charismatic feeling to the crowd when he fights. And I’m just being myself. That’s who I am and I’ve always been like that.”

His time is coming, and whether you like it or not, he’s enjoying every step of the ride.

“I love my job,” Lopez said. “I love what I do and that’s the thing that keeps me excited and keeps me entertaining the fans. I have fun when I’m in that ring, I feel free and I feel like I can do anything at that moment and no one can tell me what to do. I do listen to my father and things like that, but he understands me and I understand him and we go about our way. So I’m enjoying it, and I’m so grateful and blessed to be where I’m at today. I didn’t think I would be at this point right now in my career until later on, but it’s happening now. I believe that God believes that I am ready for all these challenges and what’s coming next. So all I can do right now is enjoy it, enjoy all that’s coming, maintain it and keep it.”

Why is Amir Khan still getting prize fights.

Cause he has a decent name, good skills and most important a weak chin. ESPN & Arum is about to get washed on this PPV. Crawford nor Khan are big enough names to sell a PPV. I got it topping out around 200-250K. That is being generous considering its Easter weekend. That's not really a party get twisted weekend.

Crawford should just go and try to walk Khan down. In none of Khan's losses has he been out boxed.

He doesn't have bad punch reaction doesn't get shooken rattled or dazed on average shots

A fighters chin quality ain't determined how they take average shots. Its about how they take hard flush shots. More times than not Khan doesn't take those shots well at all.

What I'm aying is because khan doesnt take he shots like Margarito doesn't mean he has a weak chin show me something that shows he has a weak chin
