It's kinda dumb though. I really don't think that's a route that any top level boxer should take. I'm not sure about the women, but the men would make far less money for a fight going that route. And, unless that MMA organization is willing to just feed those boxers strikers, these boxers have no shot at being successful. As soon as they go up against a good wrestler, they are going to get their ass beat.

I don't know. I don't think fighting in a second rate MMA league is going to get them anymore name recognition than being big tickent names in boxing.

I mean they may get introduced to some MMA fans that know nothing to them, but that's not necessarily a good look if you going into MMA and getting crushed.

I think they are falling for a trick here. MMA orgs are notorious for trying to promote their sport over boxing. I wouldn't be surprised if their whole aim is to use this to pain boxers as lesser fighters.

I get that women haven't traditionally been the draw, but they've had a couple events where women were the mainliners right? They should have been getting paid the most or at least as much as their co-mains regardless of sex.

If the women just aren't drawing so the low revenue is warranted then ok. If those women are drawing and they just aren't paying them, that is foul.

That's hoe shit. Instead of trying to work it out to give the fans a good fight, you try and dictate what your opponent is worth and then use that as an excuse not to fight. I can't trash Wilder too much for it, because it's just the mentality in boxing, but I hate that shit. It can't just Boxing bullshit vs UFC slave contracts.There has to be a better way to run combat sports.
