I like Mikey attitude... Not scared to get his ass whooped

Yeah lol. I think he jumping a the gun a little. But he got the right idea looking at the fight in the long run. If he has a good showing, even if he loses, he can stay and make money fighting some of the top names.

Billy Joe Saunders vs. Demetrius Andrade Ordered By WBO

The World Boxing Organization has ordered Billy Joe Saunders to make a mandatory defense of his WBO middleweight title against undefeated challenger Demetrius Andrade.

Both sides have a short window of ten days (10) to negotiate and reach an agreement. If they are unable to reach an agreement, then a purse bid will be ordered pursuant to the WBO's Regulations of World Championship Contests.

The minimum acceptable bid is $200,000. Either said can skip the negotiations and request the purse bid procedure at any time during the negotiations.

Saunders (26-0, 12 KOs) has been inactive since securing one of the biggest wins of his career - when he traveled over to Canada to dominate David Lemieux over twelve rounds in December 2017 to retain his title.

It was only the third defense for Saunders since capturing the world title from Andy Lee back in December 2015.

Saunders has been plagued by injuries and postponed bouts.

He was scheduled to fight Martin Murray on two separate days in the last few months - and withdrew from both with claimed training injuries.

A deal to face WBC, WBA, IBO champion Gennady Golovkin was in place for August - but that fell through when Golovkin finalized a deal to face Canelo Alvarez in a rematch on September 15th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

On the other side, Andrade has not been the most active fighter either.

He recently parted ways with career promoters, Banner Promotions and Star Boxing, so it will be interesting to see if anyone bids for him. There is industry chatter that both Top Rank and Eddie Hearn are making a play to sign him up.

Andrade (25-0, 16 KOs) has been out of the ring since last October, when he won a twelve round unanimous decision over Alantez Fox. That was his debut bout at the middleweight limit, after holding the WBA's "regular" title in the junior middleweight division.

De La Hoya: In Their Prime, Pacquiao EASILY Beats Mayweather!
By Keith Idec

Oscar De La Hoya considers the outcome of the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao fight the consequence of timing more than anything.

De La Hoya believes the Mayweather-Pacquiao result would’ve been “a lot different” had they boxed before finally fighting in May 2015. Mayweather, who was 38 when they fought, out-pointed Pacquiao, then 36, convincingly in their 12-round welterweight fight in Las Vegas.

“Pacquiao would have beaten him easily,” De La Hoya told the Philippine Daily Inquirer after a press conference Thursday for the Pacquiao-Lucas Matthysse fight. “In their prime? Absolutely.”

The retired De La Hoya, whose company promotes Matthysse, lost a split decision to Mayweather in May 2007.

“The Golden Boy” retired after Pacquiao surprisingly dominated him in their December 2008 bout. De La Hoya declined to continue after eight one-sided rounds against the Philippines’ Pacquiao.

The 41-year-old Mayweather retired for the third time after stopping UFC superstar Conor McGregor in the 10th round August 26 in Las Vegas. The 39-year-old Pacquiao plans to continue fighting after facing Matthysse on Saturday night.

De La Hoya hopes Mayweather and Pacquiao don’t decide to fight again “because Manny’s not the same. There’s a reason why Floyd waited so long. There’s a reason why Floyd waited so long to fight me. There’s reasons.”

Mayweather-Pacquiao generated more than $600 million in overall revenue. Their 12-round, 147-pound title fight was met mostly with criticism because it lacked action.

Mayweather maintains he won’t box again. If a Mayweather-Pacquiao rematch does happen, De La Hoya would favor Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs).

“I’ll tell you the truth – I’ll give Floyd the advantage over Manny any day because Manny has been in wars,” De La Hoya said. “Manny has fought better opposition in their prime. He has more wear and tear. He has had a longer, better career than Floyd and Floyd fights once a year. He takes care of himself. He trains all the time, so Floyd is fresher. He doesn’t fight like Pacquiao. Pacquiao gets hit and keeps coming. That just wears you down. So I have to give Floyd the advantage, as much as I love Pacquiao.”

Argentina’s Lucas Matthysse (39-4, 36 KOs, 1 NC) will defend his WBA world welterweight title against Pacquiao (59-7-2, 38 KOs) at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Their championship match, Pacquiao’s first fight in more than a year, will be streamed live by ESPN+ as part of a doubleheader slated to begin at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Garcia-Porter, Benavidez-Dirrell Eyed For September 8
By Rick Reeno

BoxingScene.com has been advised that the welterweight showdown between former world champions Shawn Porter (28-2-1, 17 KOs) and Danny Garcia (34-1, 20 KOs) is now being targeted to take place on September 8th, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Porter and Garcia will battle for the vacant WBC title that was vacated earlier this year by Keith Thurman, who has been inactive since March 2017.

The contest will be televised by Showtime.

Porter has been out of action since last November, when he won a twelve round unanimous decision over Adrian Granados, also at Barclays.

While Garcia was last seen fighting back in February, when he knocked out Brandon Rios in nine rounds at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

When Thurman vacated the belt - Porter and Garcia were both mandatory challengers to the belt. The WBC would order the two of them to face each other - and it was easy to reach an agreement, as both boxers are managed by Al Haymon and fight under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.

Another fight being positioned for the this card, is David Benavidez's mandatory defense of the WBC super middleweight title - against challenger Anthony Dirrell.

Benavidez (20-0, 17 KOs) captured the title last September, with a twelve round decision over Ronald Gavril. While the first fight was close, Benavidez dominated the rematch and nearly stopped Gavril when they met for a second time in February - as part of the Garcia-Rios undercard.

Dirrell (32-1-1, 24 KOs), a former WBC world champion at 168, is certainly the toughest opponent of Benavidez's career. His sole defeat was a close points loss to Badou Jack in April 2015. Since then, he's won five fights in a row. He was back in the ring on April 28th in Texas, when he won a ten round decision over Abie Han.
