So I'm watching the news early this morning, and they did a segment on the rise of crime in Church Hill.
Now, growing up...........Church Hill has always had a reputation of being a crime ridden neighborhood.
Things is, over the years, it's become........"gentrified."
Meaning white people have moved into the neighborhood.
So the segment features a mini town hall meeting between the police and residents of Church Hill about tips on how to "stay safe:.............and almost all the residents at the Town Hall were white.
It's just funny to me because all of them are oblivious to the history of the neighborhood they moved into.
They seem to be genuinely surprised that they even have to deal with anything like this to begin with.
If they only knew.
It's nothing like it was back in the day.
The........"crime"..........they're referring to mainly centers around robberies, but back then it was a lot more violent than it is now.
Needless to say, they would never even set foot in that neighborhood in the 80's and 90's.
Just shows how far removed they are from dealing with things that other people have had to deal with all their lives.
