Sarcasm!
LOL at ABW clout chasing.

Nah that's how I felt about that show when I watched it back then.

That show was not popular when it was out.It never caught on.

The only reason it got a 2nd season was because it was Mark Wahlberg's show too.

From what HBO said, ppl weren't watching it.

They also cancelled the show Hung and Bored To death around the same time for the same reason.
No one watched the Wire like that but they gave us 5 seasons

I was one of the few who watched that show from the premiere to the end.

I'd never heard of How to make it in America until a few years ago. I also don't think HBO promoted that show on its platforms like that. I could be wrong about that but I don't remember seeing a commercial for it when watching something else on HBO

Evidently more ppl watched The Wire than that show.

When The Wire was out it seemed popular to me.

Everybody I knew watched it.

it def had a strong cult following and later mainstream following.

But The Wire is part of the golden era and TV history.

Along with The Sopranos it ushered in the anti hero era of TV

We can't compare The Wire to this show.

Aye for me How To make It America was a meh show and a lot like Entourage. The same ppl made it

Maybe it had a bigger impact on some other ppl,but was just okay to me.

I watched that shit too though. It was just aight to me.

I watched The Wire from ep 1.

Fam the Wire almost got cancelled after every season

They threatened to cancel it after season 3 and 4

The Wire is the best show ever made or at least top 3.

Even in season 2 critics were calling it the best show on TV

I still bet The Wire was doing bigger numbers than How to make it.I have no proof of that, but I'm sure.

The Wire peaked at around 4 mill a ep

But now that both shows are streaming and on DVD we know The Wire is way more popular than that show.

The ppl from HTMIA say the show just never caught a buzz and audience.

The Wire had much buzz.

The first season DVD is when they knew The Wire had went mainstream because the numbers were crazy.

Critics and the audience also didn't like HTMIA like that.It has a 66% RT score.

It wasn't a critically acclaimed show.

IDK why we're comparing these shows?

If you like the show, that's fine.I didn't hate it.

I don't think a lot of people tv wise watched that show from when it first premiered.

The Wire took off and got more credit towards the end of it run and even more so after the show was over.
Didn't the Wire come on after The Sopranos at the beginning?

Ratings wise The Wire was never a huge thing. Truthfully the fact that show got 5 seasons is amazing because by all accounts season 3 and 4 were each supposed to be the end of it.

And I still bet they got better ratings than HTMIA

Plus The Wire was critically acclaimed and won awards.
