Because historically, female rappers sexualize themselves in their music. And historically, male rappers sexualize women in their music. Just be the nature of what it is, a comparison is impossible.

I think it stems from some men feeling some women shouldn't be doing that due to their looks/shape, that having confidence and expecting Royalty treatment and talking big shit though many would say that individual isn't attractive is off for lack of better words

Well, BET trying to give adults a place to get their videos seen created uncut. For whatever reason, as many problematic videos that aired during that time, his was chosen to be the face of the outrage

These days, MTV nor BET play music videos, and with the surge of youtube and other similar outlets, unless they sacrificing babies or some shit, they have WAY more freedom to make the kind of videos they want and arent subjected to a lot of the boundaries videos from back in the day had to be subjected to.

I totally agree with you. Things have changed a lot since 2005 when that video came out. Social media opened that door because there were less restrictions. I think it was the idea of Nelly being such a POP STAR at the time that made him an easy target for people to blame. But truthfully, it’s all a matter of perception. Which can be a good or bad thing

In regards to backlash Nelly faced for Tip Drill it was also exasperated by the incident that happened with the women at Spellman too.
 
Many of these hoes that are in this rap industry, feel being over-sexualized is empowering when it benefits them and their career, but when they need a boost or empathy when down and out, they are being oversexualized, need protection, body shaming etc, they cry victim, stop shaking your ass, dressing like hoes for everybody to be seen and you won't be categorized as such.

Low key, these rap hoes, IG hoes , like meg, cardi b, etc want other women to be niggas and the niggas that defend and uphold the shit that they talk about, stand on, wanna be the hoes.

I somehow predicted Chloe was going to fall into that life….her sister seems to not want that kind of attention and I can see why. When you promote yourself that way very early its easy to get pigeon holed. But people change. Plus her physique isn’t like Chloe.

She’s a beautiful young woman nonetheless.

Sex sells, but visuals nowadays is literally soft core porn compared to what they used to be and it’s becoming the main niche for a lot of these female artists. People who watch that performance will remember it mostly for being sexually raunchy, not because of what she’s actually singing.
