Welcome To aBlackWeb

Sure, a comic fan might have introduced a casual viewer to the MCU, but I'm not what keeps my wife going to see them. She's seen a couple without me. She is a core fan not a casual viewer, but you don't see that because you're blinded by your belief that the core audience consists solely of comic book readers. That's never really been true. In fact, some of the biggest critics of the MCU have always been comic book readers because they are the ones that don't like how much the MCU differs from the source material.

And no, I don't believe low pre ticket sales are specifically because MCU fans don't care about the characters.

1) Presales have gotten progressively worse this Phase. All that really means is that people are not as quick to go see MCU movies off the strength of them being MCU movies now.
2) Marvel hasn't really done a good job of promoting the movies. People are only now expressing satisfaction with the trailers.
3) There's been a lot of doom and gloom surrounding the MCU in recent times. That Variety article is the latest example. Of course that type of thing influences viewer excitement going into a movie release.
4) Carol, Monica, and Kamala aren't Tony, Steve, and Thor. That doesn't mean the audience doesn't care about them. It just means they don't care about them as much as the characters that came before them.

But again it took a core fan to introduce it. That’s my point. She became fan, great. I’m sure that’s what Marvel Studios wants. And I never said the core audience is only comic book readers. I don’t read comic books. I’m familiar but I became apart of the core audience through the 90s cartoons and video games. I’m sure that’s how the majority were introduce to these characters.

1. I’m not buying that. Far From Home did numbers and Doc 2 did numbers, I bet Deadpool 3 do numbers. And CM did a Billie, where the niggas that supported that at?

2. It’s Disney, I’m not buying that. They not promoting because they don’t believe in it.

3. The doom and gloom is warranted. Tickets sales and viewership proves it. And the vfx niggas tripping doesn’t help.

4. If the audience don’t care much, don’t spend $250 million on a movie with them in it. Introduce them characters with a “A” character headliner.

Rogue is sitting on the shelf and they introduced all this bullshit that niggas don’t care about in a Captain Marvel sequel. The lay up was right there. Shit is nuts.

lol watch when they finally bring rogue in niggas gonna say shit about an agenda cuz its another super powered woman

If they introduce Rogue with a character that is part of her origin story or the X-Men, how can it be an agenda?

Anyway... so we got America Chavez that can travel between dimensions..
Looks like this villain is gonna have that ability at some point or at leas be able to open portals too. along with

Loki as well

word word..

Photon is directly tied to Captain Marvel.
As is Ms. Marvel.

But Rogue is more popular. The bigger draw. Come on man. What we doing. They could’ve feed into the CM hate with Rogue.

Stop trying to get lols from the same fuck niggas and make a real argument.

Photon WAS Captain Marvel long before Carol Danvers. If there's any one thing that Marvel's core fans were up in arms about, it was giving the title of Captain Marvel to a blond woman when there was already a very deserving Black female character right there.

This actually hurts the "agenda" argument you're making. If Rogue is the more popular character then why not use her to push this mysterious agenda y'all have yet to identify? Why choose a group of characters who by everyone's admission would be on the "B" and "C" scale? That would be burying an agenda not pushing one

Huh? The agenda has nothing to do with women. I never said that. The agenda is Marvel Studios thinks that they can replicate Phase 1 success with unknown characters. And pandering to sub groups thinking they can replicate the success of Black Panther. Again viewership and ticket sales has proven this. Nobody wants this shit when you have X-MEN, Spider-Man and F4 on the shelf. Let’s get to the shits.

Ok. So there's 2 different agendas being discussed. To yours specifically the reason Marvel thinks they can do that is because the entirety of the MCU is based around a B level character that got pushed to A level solely because the movies. As with BP the pandering worked because it gave them 2 of their most successful movies ever. To pretend to not understand why theyd try to replicate that formula is just you being willfully ignorant. You may not like it, but to pretend to not understand why Marvel is doing this makes it look like you've got another issue you're not saying.

But they have the real niggas back, the fans know that and want that. You got steak, why would I continue to let you feed me ramen?

why you think pandering worked on us and not them other groups?

Rogue is an integral part of the Ms. Marvel storyline.

Her stealing Ms Marvel's powers was huge.

They would've been better off leading with that.
