Nah, Fury/Shield using the tesseract to build weapons bcuz of Thor and what happened in Thor 1 but as we have seen he knows about CM. So he knows about other life forms outside of earth.

He wants to be the hero but ends up being the villian due to being an special effects attention whore who wants people to respect him and worship his craft.

Dude is basically doctor strange and can basically do anything with his special effects.

That was my initial thought until I saw him fighting them..unless it's an act

I bet with w/e happens in End Game there's definitely going to be more than a few heroes departing for good and it's going to create a vaccuum in the savior of the world department.

It's my guess that Mysterio is going to use some alien tech and some illusion to create the appearance of danger to place himself upon that pedestal.

Yeah I'm sure it's all a ruse. He's probably fighting them, maybe even has a hand in releasing them, to look good in the public eye but it doesn't go in his favor and boom villain.

Hope it's not that predictable but I can see that happening.
