It was, no doubt but they brought the character into the mcu before just dropping his own movie. Not to mention it was a damn good movie and we been due for a film like that.

Exactly, so I don't see why you feel Monica would make more sense. Carol being the current Captain Marvel in the comics makes here a more sensible choice. Don't get me wrong. I want Monica to be in the MCU, but it makes more sense to bring her in as Photon, Pulsar, or Spectrum.
