Welcome To aBlackWeb

Because it's a movie nigga that's why Thanos beat Hulk and Drax.

And according to Marvel comics official website she is way up there and at one point absorbed a nuke:

LOLOLOL @ Monica should have came first, no she shouldn't have, Carol Danvers was the first after Mar-Vell there's no reason for Marvel to have put Monica ahead and no it wouldn't have stopped the hatred people have of women.

And Thanos made Hulk into his own personal pet so I don't understand why she should be on the same level as him. That's just your subjectivity.

For legit Captain Marvel's it goes Mar Vell > Monica Rambeau > Genis Vell > Phyla Vell > Carol Danvers.

^^ That's Marvel canon and very easily proven. Carol Danvers was never Captain Marvel until she took up the name in 2012. Monica first appeared as Captain Marvel in '82, 30 years earlier, in The Amazing Spiderman Annual #16, which came out after the graphic novel "The Death of Captain Marvel".

It's also worth noting that Thanos himself acknowledged Mar-Vell as his greatest opponent in that graphic novel.

I've seen multiple people mention that CM miraculously found Tony and Nebula. Did everyone forget the post credit scene where she arrived at Avengers HQ?

Plus doesn't Captain Marvel have that cosmic sense/awareness? Add that to the fact that in End Game they showed they can track the energy signature of the Infinity Gauntlet.. not a large leap to assume they used that as a general guideline on how to find Tony

Real die-hard comic fans have been pretty vocal about it. If we couldn't ger Mar-Vell for Captain Marvel, then the next obvious choice was Monica.

You didn't specify die hard comic fans. You said no one. The majority of the vocal critics don't fit in that narrow category and I'm sure you're aware of that.

CM should've been saved for the cosmic phase coming up. And it's as simple as that. She had no business being in the Infinity Saga. Marvel Studios saw a wave and rode it. The Russo brothers didn't even want her in Endgame.

Rocket was with them so they might have tracked the ship as well.

Nigga, Tony was gone for 22 days. CM arrived damn near after the snap. Go have a seat.

You might want to rewatch the post credit scene. You might just want to take a break from this thread while you're at it.

Fam, the reaction wouldn't have been nearly as visceral with Monica as Cap.

Marvel's first hit was Blade, a character that was obscure even by comic nerd standards. He got 3 flicks, all of which were well received.
Black Panther was a majority Black flick and as of April 19th is Marvel's highest grossing flick worldwide.

If it was well written and shot, Captain Marvel with Monica could have done numbers and received the praise that BP got.

You're changing the argument. CM just smashed the box office and was received well by critics.

We're talking about the vocal critics of the character. And you want us to believe that these same people wouldn't have had a problem with a black woman instead. You're either being disingenuous or very naive.

Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel first appeared in 1968 and became the first Captain Marvel in 1977 issue of Ms. Marvel #1

Nigga sit down SMMFH

Again the producers for this movie wanted to create a female avenger that young girls could look up to who was the most powerful and could take on Thanos. The other shit is irrelevant, what you wanted and what they did are two separate things.

You're wrong, Sir. She was Ms. Marvel.

Anyway.. there's plenty of plausible ways Captain Marvel coulda found Tony and Nebula. No sense dragging that "she randomly stumbled upon the ship" narrative any further
