"Marvel Movies Are Not Cinema"- Martin Scorsese

Has the best comic book movies been better than the best Scorsese movie? Has the best comic book movie been better than Scorsese top 10 movies
 
Thing is you don't need a big screen or cinema to appreciate Scorsese's shit.

I can get more out of the story at home.

The theaters have become theme parks not the films.
If I go to a theme park I'm trying to go on the biggest most exciting ride. It's not marvel or DC's fault his films aren't that.

So yeah he saying some hater shit. Marvel ain't doing nothing but giving fans what they want.

I mean plenty of his films are adaptions so he's not exactly doing anything different.

Not one person in here is saying his movies are bad just that hes a fucking hater for what he said.
 
I think it's obvious what he was saying if you bothered putting your mob mentality bias aside.

I've liked all of the MCU films except for the trash that was Ant Man and the Wasp. Even the best films among them (Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, Black Panther) were more thematic experiences than cinematic, though a case could be made for Iron Man.

It's actually what separates Marvel movies from other superhero films and that isn't an inherently good or bad thing. The MCU is a large scale landscape study whereas most other comic and action films try (and many fail) to study the characters or concept.

And obviously he's seen at least a couple of them, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to make such a specific observation about them. The best MCU films have scripts and actors that try to convey the deeper underlining motivations of their characters but because there's so much other things that have to be done (references to source material, references to other movies, easter eggs to future storylines, beating the bad guy, etc) that there isn't much time in a 2 hour movie to fully explore a character.

The Dark Knight did it. Logan did it. Watchmen did it. V for Vendetta, Road to Perdition, even Deadpool did it. Joker just did it. Why? Because they didn't spend over half an hour servicing other movies and ancillary characters that are irrelevant to the plot.

This is like rap purists hating on the west or south because their interpretation of Hip-Hop doesn't look like theirs. Different eras or regions will adopt things and interpret them a lot differently than other places because the culture is different.

I saw a documentary about actors from the 50s and 60s saying that actors now have it way easier and they don't have to try as hard which I disagree with. Sure they get paid way more because back then actors didn't make nearly enough but it's a different era.

Your comparison should've been about 80s vs 90s vs 2000s rap music where the focus shifted from subject centric music to songs that are about anything all at once.

Pac, Nas, Jay, KRS would never make songs the way Future does.

His films are better I don't think niggas unreasonable enough to call that into question but ultimately he does the same shit as marvel. He takes a story from someone else's page and adapts it to film.

If he doesn't like comic books that's cool. But he's on some hater shit saying it's not cinema fam.
