The part where they were clowning him talkin to ducks and whales in the ocean and how "dolphins are his bestfriend" lol you heard it nigga lol

so you just gon say this w/o proper context huh?

i forgot who i was talking to...

I was talkin to somebody who heard the podcast and knows what im talkin about.........

But how could he clown when he said he hasnt heard it?

Rory, Parks, and Mal brought it up....said it was out there but dope.

Then Joe said he dobt want issues with anyone whose mind can even go there.

And like @OhMars said oe was like i seen the tweets and skipped right over those. He shook bruh. Admit it

But they said that shit was still fire, same way I felt about it, odd but dope. Joe said Lupe could pull off a deep conceptual album like it was light work, which was super impressive. He also said that he didnt want no smoke with lupe, although he has never seen him engage but still dont want it purely off of Lupe's skill set.

With that said, when it comes to the actual project, I didnt like some of the way he tried to execute this concept.

I pretty much hate all the interludes. I understand why they are there, and that they are supposed to move the story along, but I just wasn't feeling it.

I dont like Drogas, that spanish singing just throws me off. Gold vs. The Right Things To Do gets skipped everytime. It was a good concept and I understand the reasoning behind the accent, but I'm just not feeling it. Not feeling the song Kingdom much. I'm not skipping it and letting it play, but it hasnt grown on me yet. XO is not great but its not terrible either.

To me those were the low points of the album.

What you got Gambino?

I created a playlist without the intro, drogas, gold vs. and the interludes and to me that shit flows perfectly

I just relistened, joe said he didn't hear it but was talkin about how dope it was lol Mal didn't say it was dope, he said it aint for niggas and "sometimes u overthink shit". Rory and Parks fucked with it.

Yall hear the part shortly after the lupe segment when they talked about how dope Future the God is? :cont:

Joe said he listened to it, said he didnt know who it was for but he enjoyed it.

From a technical standpoint, the beats are top notch, the lyricism is incredible, the flows are great, and the overall feeling I get from the album is great.

If I could just rate my playlist without the few songs I didnt like and the interludes I would say this was 5/5. But I gotta rate the album as it was released which is tough to do.

On one hand, I dont feel comfortable giving it a personal review of 5/5 due to the fact that I had to remove a bunch of shit from it but maaaan the highs of the album are so high I might have to still give it a 5/5. And there are way too many high points of the album so its hard to call it.

Personally its my favorite album this year. For now I give it a 4.8/5 just because there were those low points and I just cant say an album is 5/5 when im removing the intro, 2 songs, and all the interludes from it.

Ill back downbon that. But overrall all 3 said the album was dope.

But back to Joe ducking....

I also want to say I appreciate Lupe for making Alan Forver.

I'm from the same place Alan is from and the war over there with ISIS and all the other shit is tough to see.

When the picture of Alan first came out it hit me hard. I talked to some of his family members and they were crushed. Never talked to his direct family but his relatives. Shit was heartbreaking in general but hit me personally even harder cause those are my people.

To hear Lupe make a song about the situation is doper than I could put to words because he didnt have too. The situation surrounding Alan doesn't really have anything to do with Lupe from a race/ethnicity standpoint and hes really outside of it, so for him to make a song about it shows his thinking and character.

Someone do me a favor and post on Lupes twitter that a Kurdish hip hop head heard Alan Forvever and really appreciated it. I dont have twitter so I cant do it.
