gang structure was different then, just hit headed kids making their own factions and beefing over anything and willing to kill for minor reasons.
A lot of these street gangs, organized crime and terrorist orgs feed off of each other.
Latin American street gangs and cartels didn't start chopping of heads and sharing the videos on the internet until ISIS and them started doing it.
I don't even think Chicago gangland shit so much about being cool or street famous but these dudes got a lot of pain in their life. All their friends dying early. They are impoverished. Undereducated. They got bullied on the block until they joined the gang and now they feel stuck in the life.

That's the thing that kills me about it. In that second video, they were talking about how he was putting shit like that in songs and making tweets mocking dead people, and I'm pretty sure that was in a time frame where he was making rounds on some "stop the violence" type shit.
I'm not judging them for the violence in itself. It's unfortunate, but I can understand how people can get caught up in a cycle that seems inescapable. But it seems like in the CHI, they've just come to embrace and even enjoy that way of life and that's too much for me.

Durk needs to disappear for a while, and I mean a good minute. Even if he doesn't drop music again, fuck it... First and foremost, for the sake of his mental well-being and for his many young kids because they need him the most. To lose that many people in a short amount of time is crazy, especially your brother who I believe is his business partner and label head of OTF (correct me if I am wrong). I have so many questions regarding his brother even being in Chicago to begin with but whatever.
The point of the matter is... Durk done made the type of money and experience success these dudes banging in the projects could ever dream of. Why does he continue the back and forth with dudes who are below him is beyond me.
He needs to swallow his pride, take this great loss as a message because it won't stop... even after he's gone. Which is what I don't understand why these young men fail to realize. It aint start with you, nor is it going to end with you.
Durk will go down as one of the dumbest people ever in life for letting gangbanging trick him out for his freedom and/or life if he continues this path.

It's because the principals of what made him and developed his success to begin with is your pride and integrity. When you poor and growing up in the hood that's all you got. It's tripled when you are a gang member. Unfortunately his pride is even more enhanced and shown in the public eye since he is a singer. Now, let's add on to that the fact his enemies have killed close to 30 of his friends and family members and bragged about it throughout social media and taunts, while Durk does the same.
With that many loses, Durk is probably passed the stage of grieving, and developed a cold/numb exterior to boost his current status as unfazed,tough, and full of pride because 1. It's apart of his fame, and most important 2. It's part of his DNA of why he lives which is to protect his pride and integrity.
No amounts of money or success changes that for some folks, especially when he has lost as much as he did. If anything the more lives lost actually pushes him further into the abyssal plains of real niggatry, and the ending chase of protecting and honoring his Integrity will continue until it won't matter like the day this purpose started.
Durk trauma and saving will only get better once he is forced to leave this lifestyle by either prison overseas in a safe place, or through some other extreme version. He too deep in man smh.
