jay electronica brought the best out of hov and in turn, hov gave jay the fuel and confidence he needed to put together the album.

not to mention that jay electronica produced all but 3 records on this shit.

like, in no way does jay-z make his a bad album.. he definitely makes it better... it just feel like more of his than jay elects....solely because of the potency of the features...


like think back to illmatic....that was nas debut album.. we all knew nas could spit before hand, but this was his big major premiere.....

AZ who was prolly spitting as sharp and arguably sharper depending on who you ask was on 1 track....
biggie...had meth on 1 track
jay-z had biggie on 1 track...

like it's cool to have a fellow elite emcee on 1 track...... but if they spitting as good if not better than you and you put them on 5-6 tracks...... "riight"

like jay electronica nice......and this album definitely getting burned into my rotation.....

but he ain't 5+ jay-z features nice... not with jay spitting like this.....people gonna be talking about hov jacking this nigga album all weekend

His debut album's anticipation was up there with Detox. So for Hov to come through in his 50s and body this nigga on his debut album... that aint nothing to sneeze at.

Bout half way in. Shit is fire.

They both killing it. Jay Z in rare form, and Jay Elec doing exactly what I expected.

With that said, im kind of disappointed so far. Like yo I love Jay Z, but I been waiting on a Jay Electronica album for over 10 years and I rather have had 10-12 dope songs with no features.
 
And so far I wouldnt say Jay Z killing Elec on this. Jay has harder hitting witty bars as is his style and what makes him the GOAT, but Jay Elec has bars where once you decipher what hes actually saying you get amazed.

Im still on first listen and listening close as fuck and im sure alot of what jay electronica said went above my head but what ive caught so far is dope as fuck.

It being this close is a win for Jay Z though. This is Jay Elecs debut album and dude should have more time on it. Smh

I'm just glad to album doesn't sound like all the other shit that's out.

I couldn't care less who is better

This my first time really listening to elect and I'm just trying to take the moment in

It's good we are actually discussing the album instead of comparing it to the drug infused trap beat laced shit that comes out every other week
