How To Help Save Net Neutrality

So u rather get fucked with the lights off than with the lights on so u know who’s fucking u
My internet is unlimited, I don't have to worry about getting extra fees for going over a monthly limit. My internet also, censor free, I don't have to worry about an isp or the government blocking information. I can also play my game online and the bandwidth needed to power it, is treated all the same. It's not throttled because say such and such owns hulu and netflix is their competitor. That's how it should work and that's how it should always work.

It's wild seeing someone actually shilling for net neutrality, like this is truly a site to see.

I'd much rather have more than I need than run out and be charged for bandwidth. On top of that, I like my internet unregulated as far as content goes, I really don't trust a company/s especially ones with as much political influence that isp's have, to keep information uncensored.

This is my biggest worry...

With net neutrality gone...ISPs control the distribution of information unchecked...

They can legally censor whatever the fuck they want.

From porn to sites that may have a political or social view that differs from thiers or the current administration

Like I said brush, u wanna get fucked with the lights on or off

I’m in the industry so I see what’s happening, it’s like the whole cut the cord thing. Ain’t not such thing as cutting the cord. Cable companies the the backbone of communication infrastructure.

But, ya mean..aight

Nfl money gets devied up like a pie, team just has to exist. Good year bad year they make he same overall profit.

But if ur gonna own a team In competitive sports u got two choices. Selling winning or sell hope. Winning cost money, hope...hope is a guy from baseball convincing fans that he can craft a cheap team of scrappy players to take them to the playoffs cause he did it and they made a movie about it in Baseball.

Cause u know, ...same thing

From your explanation...i think I see your argument. Essentially, there's a cap to available bandwidth. And with each person occupying a certain percentage of it based on the current structure. So your saying instead of it being a free for all, basically this will give ISP more control over how to allocate it based on a households particular need.

I get that. But I feel like thos is a cover for something else. Like not only does it help ISP profit more based, but they have the ability to throttle you based on what sites your using and how much bandwidth is required for your habits. Bit whose to say this won't be abused?

What are the proposed checks and balances?

Then when people lose hope in that, fire him..get the newest hot shot in GMs. Draft the top QB in college and say “we’re finally building for the future”

Nobody cares..

Honestly..like right now there’s a guy in the headend that can go to ur house right now. Pull up his CPU and tell u what porn U watched last night and for how long..

But u know what? He don’t care to look. He got shit to do. We don’t care to look. We got shit to do..

Now, if u abuse shit and we have to come looking for u...now u got a problem

You are talking like your employer has explained to you how this is going to work.

So, what does this mean for the average consumer? Like, let's say you use streaming services often (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, ect...)

Will it be strictly regulated to the point where they monitor what exactly you are using? And if the usage doesn't match the plan youve enrolled in, you will be throttled?

What about the everyday browser? Because so much bandwith will go to peoole constantly streaming, does this slow down the speed of viewing certain sites?

Comcast will start their own streaming services and throttle Netflix so you feel like you have to use theirs to keep watching it in the HD quality you've come to love

this is why i think 4k is still a couple of years away from being mass produced. 4k is gonna take some nice amounts of bandwidth to provide that kinda quality for 2 hr movies, etc...

Ever heard of Ala Carte, I think I’m spelling that right. That’s a cable package that only gives u the channels that u want. Which technology of cable companies have the ability to do. The reason why that doesn’t happen, is that cable providers have to pay for the content that they provide to you.

So let’s say you only want MTV, well Viacom says no. Viacom says if you want MTV, your cable company has to pay for MTV,MTV 2,3,Jams,Neo Soul, VH1, and Bet.

Cable company says how much, Viacom says 60 bucks a head. Cable company says nah we ain’t paying that much for a viewer ship that only wants one plus ur forcing us to take channels we don’t want.

Viacom says ok, up until now and our current deal is over. We are going to run a crawl at the bottom of ur tv screen that says “jackass cable company doesn’t want MTV on its airwaves, call jackass cable company and let them know u want MTV, or by June 10th u won’t be able to see mtv on Jackass Cable”.

Calls flood in, arms twisted, they bite and buy in. Cost of operations goes up, less profit, investors don’t like it, next year execs raise rates to compensate for business expense purely to provide u the content u want to stay a customer. U get mad and argue with them and call Jackass cable a shitty cable company. That eat that, and focus more on internet.

They want to move to where outside companies don’t have the power to control their rates to their customers because more customers mean more money. Where’s the money, moneys in the internet, we control the pipe line not them.

Now, after all that fight...u think they are gonna open the door to Netflix to become more powerful through a stronger pipeline to Netflix through Jackass cable. Just for Netflix to then turn around and say. Since ur providers want us so bad.

You gotta pay us, or we will throttle down every IP that originates from ur domain.

Nah bruh

how do you explain the success of sling tv then?

which, in essence has a la carte packaging

but it uses the internet, which as it stands, you dont get interrupted/throttled services b/c you get, in theory, the bandwidth you've paid your ISP for

Yes, and what makes u want an internet company over the other...consistent and quick internet service

Oh, and u don’t get the bandwidth u paid for..u get access to the bandwidth u paid for...access

They ain’t got what they are selling to u..they ain’t got it, but they won’t stop selling it and won’t stop telling u they got it cause the dude across the street gone say if he ain’t got it, I got it.

And then like the housing bubble, it’s gone get so big it’s gone collapse under the weight of itself.

This is for all intensive purposes Telecom saying...fam..we lying bruh

And people not listening
