How To Help Save Net Neutrality

I think people are overreacting, let the whole situation play out. These companies not going to risk losing subscribers trying to charge extra.

Give me unnerdy terms.
The way it would work for telecom companies is...shit would be tiered to certain packages.

Like casual browsing would be let’s say package b...gives high speeds access, like if u live by urself..10 mega bytes per second to access face book, instagram..shit like that

Which is all u need to access sites like that..so u won’t be affected

But if u live with lots of people 10 mega bytes per second of bandwidth won’t cut it so u’ll Need a package that provides 20, 30, 40, 50 megabytes per second bandwidth

In actuality it’s really purposely directing traffic instead of everyone going where they want when they want.

Instead of giving u the full pipe, ur given what u need. Where as right now u can pay for a package that gives u full pipe even though u don’t need it

This gives u what u need. The down side of it is that companies can go crazy on pricing...but in reality, that will work it’s way out through competition.

Everything gone be fine and it’s actually a good thing for the consumer. It’s just that the avg. consumer don’t know it.

Fake News, this is a telecom shill

Nah brush, I work on shit that affect people’s internet daily. The avg person don’t even know that it’s ur fellow consumer in ur node as to the reason why u may have shitty internet.

One person in a node that covers 4 neighbourhoods and feeds 200 customers can slow down traffic for hours until the NOC recognizes that there is a problems and a network tech is dispatched to track down the modem that is using a excessive amount of bandwidth

Here’s an example, this is the return spectrum for a node. The bottom part is the noise floor, the peaks are modems firing.

This is a still photo but Those peaks rise and fall all day. Every peak is a modem sending info the the cmts. Basically requesting information and for what ever is that modem is doing.

Modems need a signal to and from them. Sometimes a modem in a node can fire so much that other modems can’t fire. This happens in milli seconds mind u. Each modem has to wait its turn to fire, 200 modems in one node waiting their turn to fire..ok

One modem won’t stop firing because it’s 500 mbps customer who has found a way to pipe that entire 500 all at once. Which is not supposed to happen but a modems firmware can be altered to do so. And is more common than u think.

But it that person accessing what ever they were doing is only given what they need to access the IP of what ever they were trying to do and that IP has decidcated allowance of only...

Know what..ima get to technical..but it’s a good thing trust me

Nah, the reason folks have such inconsistent internet speed is because isp's sell more bandwidth than they actually have. They don't expect you to use it to it's fullest extent and then when you do, they throttle your speeds cause they sold more than they actually have. It's comcast and verizon got sued a while ago

You see the point in net neutrality then fam?

Consumers don’t know that they don’t need 500mbs if they are single and living by themselves. But a cable company is going to sell it to you, because no one says they can’t. There is no entity that says they have to prove that they can consistently provide u that speed. Just that it is possible to do so.

So a catchy phrase they use is “up to 500mbps”..you feel me. But u never ever need that, and giving that much bandwidth away to everyone at all times for anything. Slows down internet in general for everyone.

Wouldn’t it be better if everyone got what they needed, when they needed it. So bandwidth is more available with more consistent ping times?

This is a threat to the money and integrity of telecom companies, not the consumer.

And if they came out in front and fought, the secret that u don’t need what they are selling you gets out. Then they lose money, so it’s a damn if they do damn if they don’t. And I guess they decided it’s better to let it happen and keep the consumer in the dark than to shine light on bad business practices.

Cell phone companies got it right by giving shit a name like 4 g and 3 g. Where’s your nearest cell tower, what speeds are u suppose to getting right now from the tower ur pinging from for the time of day it is?

Or do u just care that it comes to u quickly?

I'd much rather have more than I need than run out and be charged for bandwidth. On top of that, I like my internet unregulated as far as content goes, I really don't trust a company/s especially ones with as much political influence that isp's have, to keep information uncensored.

So u rather get fucked with the lights off than with the lights on so u know who’s fucking u
