Get solar panels it reduces the bill .

Also it will help if the power grid ever goes off from war , economic collapse or solar flare from the sun .

The future is dark like my skin so I will be alright , since melanin obsurbs negative energy and makes it positive .

It eliminates your bill in a lot of cases.

That said, the bold is only true if you get a battery with the panels. Otherwise, when the grid goes down, your panels won't do much for you since most of them are designed just to feed power back into the grid and not directly into your house.

That depends on the setup. Some don't go straight to the house. Some go to the plant and you get credit

Get the ones that don't connect to the grid just your house .
Also I think some panels just need the sun no connection to a grid and no need for batteries if grid goes off .

You're going to need some type of battery or to be connected to the grid otherwise you won't have any power at night. You typically create more energy than you need during the day and next to nothing at night. They connect you to the grid, so that the excess energy you create during the day is used and so that you can receive power at night. You could do the same thing with a battery, but those tend to be pretty expensive when you're talking about getting one big enough to power your whole house.

Lol I have family that has solar and he hasn't been happy with it

The company you go through and the panels you get matter. For instance, my brother in law has panels from Tesla. They didn't do a good job of planning out how many panels he needed, so they never produce enough energy to completely eliminate their electricity bill. Also, they are only leasing the panels. So all the state and local credits that we get for having solar panels go to Tesla not to him since they own the panels.

Other than stuff like that, I'm not sure what people could dislike about it. Sure you have to pay for the panels, but my monthly payment for that is a flat $140 each month which is lower than a lot of people in here are saying their summer bills are and waaaaaay lower than the average winter bill. Once the panels are paid off, I'll have no more energy related bills for as long as we keep the house.

He went with Raven solar in NC. Got the max amount of panels. Roof is practically covered in panels. Might be because his house is all electric lol

Then he should be overproducing a lot unless he and his family are just energy hogs. That said, different states have different rules. I live in MD. There's a program here that gives you $55 for every 1 MWh you produce. We don't even have a super big setup, and we basically produce 1 MWh every month. Plus MD requires the energy company to pay you back the full value of the net energy you put back into the grid. If NC doesn't do that, then he's not getting any money back, but you'd think with a setup that big, he'd still be eliminating his monthly bill.
